Miriel soon became master of all bladed objects--mostly the sword. She was prided for being able to handle two swords at once with deadly force. Then, one night, a war erupted between too nations. The ownership of a tiny island said to be the focus of all magical networks was under dispute. Two factions: the Gundarg and the Azure Kingdom fought over it. The Azure kingdom--long known to be cruel and evil, was losing. And so, it raided the special school, torched it, and stole all the students. Miriel soon became a general of the empire--at only age 13. She was brainwashed and had magic fused within her many times so she could become the ultimate soldier. As the Azure Empire slowly began to take over the island, it used the magical resources to try and clone Miriel. After countless missions for the Azure Empire, one day Miriel is sent on a mission to suppress Gundarg forces which have established camp on a beach. Arkrist Enemia is known to have equal, if not slightly better skills than the Prodigy. It also has some eery comparisons to Miriel in technique. Instead of carrying swords, Arkrist bears two scythes. Arkrist, with mysterious rumors about it, sets out to destroy the 7 clones of the Prodigy--who have become the staple of the Azure kingdom's power. Travelling about the land helping the Crescent Blade rebellion win battles, Arkrist Enemia becomes a martyr for the people--though many fear it's odd looks. He is often referred to as the "Scarlet Lover" because he has wandered the world for love. One day, after an unfortunate adventure on a boat, he finds himself washed on shore of the magical island. There, he stumbles upon a fight between the Gundarg and Azure factions. There he sees a beautiful goddess fighting with passion--so tainted with love, he cares not what side she is fighting for. Terrance, however is not aware of the fact that she is "The Prodigy". Terrance decides to enter the castle of the Azure, just to see this mystery woman. He sees her, but she finds only contempt in him. With his heart broken, he sneaks out of the castle. After a year of great depression and lonliness, Terrance wishes he could enter the castle--but it now hangs in the air, unreachable. He meets up with "The Scarecrow" and decides to aid him--hoping that the adventure will take him to the castle once more. Terrance sinces something odd about Arkrist--something he cannot pinpoint. She is programmed, however, to only have "essential" emotions. She feels great contempt towards Miriel because in the eyes of the grand emperor, she is only number 2. When Miriel disappears, Gabriel is slightly complacent, but so filled with rage and jealousy that she will not rest until Miriel is dead! She becomes the head of Azure tactics and eventually works her way up the ranks. She learns how to manipulate the grand emperor and then kills him. Gabriel uses the empire for her own purposes, mostly to track down Miriel. In this ruthless tracking, many people are killed. When Gabriel finds Arkrist, they soon become opposing forces. Gabriel ends up being the final boss you have to fight in the game, and her skills are equivelent (almost) to the Prodigy's. MARDUKE REQUET: Marduke, an ex-general of a part of the Gundarg army. When he was very young, he lived on the magical island, but his parents were killed by the Azure Empire. Marduke has vowed revenge, and has taken the war seroiusly. He now works as a carpenter in a remote village and secretly is the head of the Crescent Blade Rebellion. Using guerilla tactics, Marduke has managed to keep the rebellion alive for 10 years. The rebellion has even survived the Prodigy and after the fortress of Azure became a floating monument to evil. Originally, Marduke's goal was to was to take out the trump card of the Azure Empire--the Prodigy. However, his only chance on the beaches of the magical island, failed. However, he now has a new objective, and a new ally. Marduke later learned of the clones of the Prodigy. He set out on a mission to destroy all of them--including the most dangerous one, Gabriel. Marduke, through the small battles gained a mysterious ally: "The Scarecrow". He now travels with the scarecrow and uses his rebellion as an aide for their journey. Marduke has a wife and a small boy--and hopes that he can spare them from the carnage by taking on this journey. However, she despised the head scientist, Regonald who was working on the cloning project. She often served as a sister figure to the Prodigy, as well as her mentor. Claire soon becomes disenchanted with the vision of the Azure Empire. She sees that the Emperor is being corrupted by the alpha clone, Gabriel. After botching a mission because she refused to kill a woman and her child, Claire was demoted. She vowed never to work for the Azure Empire again. However, after trying to escape, she was imprisoned. After finally escaping, she sought out the Crescant Blade rebellion, but was often distrusted. Claire sees Arkrist's mission as a way to prove her strength and her loyalty to the rebellion. Claire, however fears confrontations with past relations in the Empire. Her sister, Rose, works for the Empire. Claire hopes she can turn Rose to the other side. Growing up in a big city, where she was forced to be inside, she yearns to see the world. After getting in a fight with her aristocratic parents, Varsity runs away, only to be taken in by a group of ruffians. Varsity is forced to be a servant for the ruffians, and is abused. One day, she catches a train to another place. Varsity has only one means of supporting herself: her music. On one day while playing music in the park, she encounters a man with the look of love in her eyes: "The Scarlet Lover". A crush soon develops and Varsity decides to follow him in his travels. She, however, annoys and bothers him, which makes her sad inside. It seems as though she is helpless and getting in his way. When he comes to the Crescent Blade rebellion, Varsity shows off her musical skills, earning her way into the group. When the journey presents itself, she insists on going with Arkrist and Terrance, despite many people's misgivings. Varsity hopes that maybe one day she can be reunited with her parents, but she is terrified of the fact that her home has come under possession of the Azure Empire, and strives to free her people. Her magical powers, however are incredible and she is very effective with a rod. It is believed that Fox Gemini is actually a whole different species living on Earth. She has no recollection of her life before being taken in by the humans of a small port village. It is believed that Fox Gemini is actually a living part of the magical core of the mysterious island. Strangely, she only has 4 fingers on each hand, and has a set of curiously small wings coming from her back. The alleged cause of her memory loss is the supression of painful memories of when she was taken by the Azure Empire and operated on. Fox was even forced to fight "the Prodigy" to see which was stronger. Unlike the prodigy, however, Fox uses more effect and healing spells than attack spells. Somehow, she managed to escape from the clutches of the insane Dr. Regonald, and now vows revenge for her treatment in his hands. For the most part, she is a loner and doesn't like the idea of being part of the rebellion. She does, however, since some kinship with Arkrist. In fact, he intended to propose to her on the day she died. Ever since he had been evicted from his home town and denounced by his family, Lance has been wandering around. One day, he came across the remains of an intense battle between the Gundargs and Azures. He took the suit of armor and decided to use it to create a "super hero" of sourts. Lance (that isn't his real name by the way--it's Heinrich) now pleads with the Crescent Blade rebellion to let him join--but is refused many times because of his bumbling nature. Lance sees the adventure with Arkrist as a chance to obtain treasure, fame, and the favor of the Crescent Blades. He also tries desperately to get Fox to notice him, because he has a crush on her. However, his crashed ship has been confiscated by the Azure Empire. Franz needs the ship to get home. Also, Franz packs a double personality. It's not expected that Franz would develop a close friendship with any of the members of the expedition, but his unorthodox fighting techniques are amazing. Franz uses a variety of carnival like items as weapons. Franz, by choice, detaches himself from the plot, and because of it, he feels left out, and alone. He has ruthlessly killed many people, and is famed for his cold heart, which earns him the nickname "Blue Heart". Blu heads the invasion of Gundarg kingdom, where he drives King Gundarg into hiding. King Gundarg used to be Blu's advisor in a magical school (the same that Miriel attended) but was kicked out for his ruthlessness and blamed King Gundarg for this event. Blu now accepts the rivalry of Sethram. However, he does not see that someone within his own kingdom wishes to take the ultimate power from him. REGONALD MORPHIUS: "Reggie" as he is called by fellow Azure officials, is the acclaimed scientist of all the land. It's quite a shame that he has gone insane due to the power granted him. Reggie's discovery of the magical island and suggestion of it to King Blu was the cause of the entire war. Reggie then discovered how to fuse magic into humans, and used himself as a subject. Reggie's current project is working on the Prodigy clones. Reggie was the head of all the experiments done on Miriel, and tauntingly refers himself as her father. However, the clone experiments were taking too long to process, so Reggie installed his thoughts, memories, etc. into another being to carry on his work. The new Reggie finally completed the experiments--at the height of his madness, and installed the programs for the clones, not realizing the one for Gabriel is defective. Reggie has been known to be cowardly and weak, until his magical fusions, and is the main character (in all truth) behind the game--he has processed Miriel, created Gabriel, and started the war. Reggie is the second enemy of Arkrist. SETHRAM GUNDARG: Is the son of the old King of the Gundarg kingdom. Sethram lead several battles against the Azure, and almost single handedly caused its defeat. Sethram was almost killed in the invasion of the Gundarg kindgom. He was imprisoned in the depths of the Azure Fortress. To keep his precious face from grunge and scars, Sethram wears a porcelain mask. After eventually escaping, Sethram decides to join the Crescent Blade rebellion and bring back honor to his family name. Sethram also feels ashamed of his father's actions-- squabbling over an island full of power. It is Sethram's personal goal to kill Blu. Sethram, however, is disliked by many because of his headstrong attitude, vanity, and cockiness. There is often a rivalry between Sethram and Arkrist of who is the strongest. Charlie insists that he go along on the adventure. Charlie's experience in the world often proves valuable to others. His great character and battle scars show a past filled with many adventures. You have two options: (a)go back to sleep (b) go down and investigate. (a)Wake up in the morning. (b)Walk outside your room. There's a chest in the room opposite you as well as a diary. If you read the diary, Miriel won't understand and makes a point to ask on the morn. Then walk down the stairs halfway and it will show your mom and a man talking about your abilities and how you should be sent to a school. You then go back to bed. 2. In the morning, (a)your mom brings up the fact that you have great abilities and she wants you to go to a special school; (b) you ask about the diary and the man from last night, your mom explains that you have special skills and that because of them you are wanted at a special school. After hearing the news, Miriel tries to protest, but your mom insists you go off to prepare. 3. Here's some stuff you can put in your pac: wedding picture, sandwiche x3, lucky charm, teddy bear, allowance (1000 Lima), "My Diary", heart ring. Talk to mom to get the sandwiches. After saying good bye, you walk out the door. Make sure you talk to your dog (it will lead to a small sequence MUCH later). Head out the door and go a little South until you reach the Cross Cliffs. At the beginning of the place, you can pick up "two sticks" from a pile of wood at the edge of the crossing and use them as weapons. 4. When you get to the school you'll see a group of girls snickering at you. Go into the main building and enter the office. Here, you can change your name (at the registration desk). Then, you head to class, you'll need to pay attention, because there's a test on the first day. If you get at least 1 wrong, you have to go back to your desk and study some more. 5. After meeting with the teacher for the test, you're excused to wander about. Go int the courtyard and look at your reflection on the bridge until the bell rings--then you have to go to your dorm. In your dreams, you see a dark figure who looks like a scarecrwo, fighting a demon like creature.After hearing hte rooster, you wake up in the morning. After walking up, you have to go to class, but make sure to check all the dorms and lockers for supplies. 6. Once you enter class, you can choose to either lounge about or take your seat. As the instructor starts the class, the screen switches to show the Azure Empire storm troopers climbing the cliffside to reach the school. Regonald Morphius leans on the rails of his machine, assuring Blu Azure of the value of this mission and the legend of the Prodigy. As the soldiers reach the top, a cinema sequence begins. **cinema sequence: The cinema shoes the school from a distance, resting on the cliff. The balloon craft zooms from right in front of the camera and shoots an energy bolt that sets the roof on fire. Soldiers then surround the campus. It shows Iria's eyes half closed (notice their a mixture of yellow & red). She suddenly senses something. She gets up and runs out the class.** 7. You can either (a)heed the teacher's command and go back in, or you can (b)venture out into the hall. (a)You return to your seat, and as you do, a ST comes into the classroom. The teacher ushers all the kids into the back of the room, but Miriel stays to fight the storm trooper. (b)You venture down the hall to the right, but you see STs bust in the main door. Turn around and go down the stairs and go into the door at the far right. Go down the stairs and you will enter the basement. Here you can fight Vermin, which will increase your levels nicely. Once you find the exit, you'll have to fight the boss, "Storm Trooper". BOSS: Storm Trooper hp:50 mp:0 difficulty: easy 8. When you go outside, you are captured by Blue, and are taken to Reggie. As you are being marched away, you hear Reggie speculating on the "batch" of kids they have captured. You are takne to the cargo hold of a boat where you are with other children. It switches to Reggie and Blu talking on top of the ship about what will happen next. Reggie refers to brainwashing, magical infusion, and cloning. 9. You're kept in a concrete cell, you can save your game at this point and rest from your first battle. When the soldier comes for you a buncha' scenes occur: Miriel being injected with magic, Miriel being brainwashed, Miriel fighting Fox, Miriel obliterating a group of soldiers, Miriel participating in a few cloning tests, Miriel almost jumping off of a tower.
