They're too small to open doors! -This is the only important question I've got. Send your questions to leemail20@yahoo.com. Thanks!- ============================== III WALKTHROUGH CHAPTER I - The Hungry You are Hammy, a mild mannered hamster. You are in a hamster cage on the second floor of an everyday home. Hammy wakes up in his hamster cage. Fluff, a hostile and insane hamster, is sleeping at the other corner of the cage. Fluff wakes up and talks too Hammy (you). He complains about being hungry and suggests they find a way out of the cage. Look around the small cage. Examine the lower left corner for a food pellet (it restores HP). Then go to the door of the cage. A female hamster with a bow on her head is outside of the cage. Hammy speaks to her. HAMMY: Hi Retsmah. Whats going on? RETSMAH: That dumb human forgot to feed us again. HAMMY: I know. I'm starved. RETSMAH: I'll open the door and let you out. (Hammy and Fluff exit the cage once the door opens) RETSMAH: Good, your out. I know where the human keeps the food. We can go take some. FLUFF: If I don't get food soon I'll hafta eat you guys. HAMMY: Very funny. All of a sudden a giant piece of lint appears. You have to fight it. This is an easy battle, even though you don't have any weapons. Just attack. Fluff does a lot more damage than Hammy and Retsmah. Have Retsmah use her Scorch attack if you like, but it's not really necessary. If you get low on HP (which is highly unlikely), make Hammy use "Hammy Heal" or use the food pellet. The battle will quickly be over. RETSMAH (after the battle) : Lets go. The food bin is north of here. You will be on the overworld map of a large room. Right next to you is the hamster cage. Go back in and go to Hammy's bed. You can rest here anytime to restore HP/MP. Then exit. On the world map you'll notice another cage to the east. Ignore it and go north. You may get into some random encounters will SmallLints, but two attacks will easily kill them. One you reach the food bin, you'll go to a close up view of it. The hamsters try to pry the lid off of the bin, but fail. Fluff will use his claws to rip a hole into the side of the container. It's empty inside. Fluff goes crazy and starts running around in circles. RETSMAH: No! Now what are we going to do? FLUFF (Stops running around): I guess I'll have to eat you. RETSMAH (Bites Fluff): Shut up! FLUFF: Ow! Hey, Lets go to the bird's cage. They always have plenty of food. HAMMY: But the birds are mean! RETSMAH and FLUFF: Shut up! You are now back on the overworld map. Walk to that other cage on the east. Once you get their, you'll go to a close up view. You are in front of the bird cage. Enter. Inside, you have to navigate around the perches to get to the top. Be sure to pick up the Cotton Swab weapon for Hammy. Equip it right away. SmallLints and GrayLints are the only enemies here. They're easy. Once your about halfway up, a blue parakeet flies in front of you, and you have to fight. Blue Parakeet is also easy. Hammy and Retsmah don't contribute to much in this battle, but Fluff's attacks are a great help. He does about four times more damage than the others. Don't use any magic, conserve your MP. After taking some damage, Blue Parakeet flies off. You receive 15 sunflower seeds. They heal more than pellets. Use one or two of them to heal, and continue. You'll see an orb on the trail upwards. Talk to the orb to save, then continue. Once you get to the top, you'll see Blue Parakeet and another yellow bird. YELLOW BIRD: Why are you here? FLUFF: We're gonna steal your food! Heh Heh. YELLOW BIRD: Is that so? I don't think so. FLUFF: You use "so" twice in a sentence. YELLOW BIRD: Shut up! I did not! Yellow Bird accompanies Blue Parakeet in this battle. Blue Parakeet can easily be defeated, but Yellow Bird has lots of HP. Be sure to keep your HP up by using sunflower seeds. Hammy should attack and heal. Fluff should just attack, and have Retsmah use Scorch. Take out Yellow Bird first, because he uses sunflower seeds to heal himself and Blue Parakeet. After Yellow Bird's HP is low, he'll back out of the battle. Blue Parakeet can then be taken care of. After the battle, the birds will give up. As you try to take their food, they'll lunge at you and knock you down to the floor of the cage. They then will through you outside. Go back to your cage (not the birds cage; the door inside is now locked). You can rest here, and you will now notice that there's a save orb next to Hammy's bed. You may want to use it. After you rest, Retsmah will suggest going down to a place called the kitchen, where the humans keep food. Fluff says it's a stupid idea, and then he attacks you. This is the fist battle that is actually hard. Fluff does a lot of damage with his claws, but he cannot heal. Keep in good health with Sunflower Seeds. If you run out, just hope that he's low on HP and attack. After you defeat him, he'll run away. After the battle: RETSMAH: Good riddens. He was crazy anyways. HAMMY: Yeah. So, are we going to go to the kitchen? RETSMAH: You go first. I'll meet you there. I have..... some thing I have to do. HAMMY: ................ok. How do I get out of this room? RETSMAH: Squeeze under the door. The door is north, past the food bin. HAMMY: Okay. RETSMAH: Be careful. It's a long trek to the kitchen. HAMMY: I will. Retsmah leaves the party. Go to the door, north past the food bin. Hammy will squeeze under it automatically. You'll be on a new map. The enemies here are tougher, so watch out. The gnat enemies have high evade, and you might not be able to hit them. If you encounter a group of them , just run. You'll enter into a hall, with huge doors (they only look huge; your just a hamster, you know). Don't go in (under, actually) any of the doors yet. Instead, continue forward. You'll notice a mouse hole in the wall. Enter. This is a shop. The clerk (a mouse) tells you to be careful around the stairs, and then sells you stuff. He sells food pellets and two new weapons, the Toothpick Sword and Flint Tooth. Buy both. The Flint Tooth is for Retsmah, and she will rejoin you later. If you can't afford these, fight around. The clerk also offers you a rest for ten specks (specks are the Hamster's currency, they are little chips of metal). Squeeze under the giant door to the left of the mouse hole. Inside, Blue Parakeet and Yellow Bird are attacking a small hamster. You have to help him out. You will enter battle. The small hamster will start out low on HP, so use a sunflower seed to heal him. Yellow Bird will use a move called TriTalon, which attacks three times. You can't control the little hamster. He'll either defend or attack one of the birds. After one of the birds is low on HP, they'll both fly away. In that case, attack blue parakeet; he has lower HP. After the battle: HAMMY: Are you okay? LITTLE HAMSTER: Of course I'm okay! I didn't need your help! HAMMY: How did you get here? LITTLE HAMSTER: When the humans stopped feeding me, I jumped out of my cage. HAMMY: Jumped? LITTLE HAMSTER: Actually, I climbed out. HAMMY: What's your name? LITTLE HAMSTER: Snifster. HAMMY: I'm going down to the kitchen to get food. Do you want to come? SNIFSTER: Okay, but don't boss me around just because I'm little. I'll do whatever I want, okay? HAMMY: Okay. Snifster will join your team! There's not much else to do in this room. If you go to Snifster's cage (the far right corner of the room) you can rest there for free, but it takes a long time to get there and is probably not worth it. There's also a huge (to you) human bed and a desk in the room, but you can't climb them now. Snifster starts with no weapons or abilities. He can equip whips but, of course, you don't have any yet. Squeeze under the door of the room. Return to the mouse hole to rest up and save. You can go to the room across from the one where you found Snifster, but there's nothing except furniture and random battles there. Go back to the main hallway, to the stairs. If you came here without Snifster, Hammy won't go down the stairs. He'll say he's too scared. If Snifster is with you, Hammy will still say he's scared, but Snifster will shove him down the stairs. Hammy will land at the bottom of the stairs, unharmed. Snifster will follow. Next to the bottom of the stairs there is a mousehole. In the hole is a save orb and a mouse who will offer you "room and board" for 15 specks. Say yes to get healed. Outside the hole there are two paths to take (three if you count going back up the stairs). Don't go either way. Instead, fight around this area. The enemies give you lots of EXP, especially the beetles. Keep getting EXP until Hammy learns "Hammy Heal" and Snifster learns "Aero." It'll only take about four battles to learn them. These skills will help you in later battles. Make sure to keep Snifster in good health, because he only has about a fourth as many HP as Hammy. You can go back to the mouse hole to get healed. Now, back to the two paths. Both lead to the same place, but one is shorter and the other has treasures on it. I'd recommend the treasure way, the right. On the right passage, you'll enter the great room. You can go straight through it, but don't, get the treasures first. Behind the leg of the coffee table is 100 specks. Next to the couch is Dental Floss, a weapon for Snifster. By the TV is the first accessory in the game, the small band-ad. When equipped, it raises your Max Hp by 10%. Watch out for the Dust Lint enemies; they can put you to sleep. Go through the greatroom and you'll enter the kitchen. You'll notice another entrance to the kitchen. That's where you would have entered if you took the left path. Once you get near the refrigerator, a big blob will attack you. You'll enter a boss battle. The blob is called The Crud Behind the Fridge. Watch out for Crud's Sickness spell, it'll put wet tail on one of your people. Have Hammy use Hammy use Hammy Help on himself and Snifster to raise their defense. Snifster's Aero attack works great on Crud because he's weak against wind attacks. See, I told you those moves would come in handy! After the battle you'll see Retsmah. She'll congratulate you on making it here. Some human has left the Refrigerator door open so you climb in. Next you see a cool FMV of the hamsters gobbling up all of the food in the fridge. After that, Retsmah will show you a hole under the cabinet. Inside is a bed and a save orb. Retsmah says it's her hiding place in case the humans come. She will ask you to get some rest, and Hammy will automatically sleep in the bed. Hammy will have a dream. In the dream, Hammy is in a hamster-sized palace, but no on else is there. You can explore around the palace, but you won't find anything. Go to the main room in the center of the building. Their will be a flash of light, and an old gray hamster will appear. HAMMY: Who are you? OLD HAMSTER: Do you even know who you are? HAMMY: What do you mean? OLD HAMSTER: You don't know of the legend, do you? HAMMY: Legend? OLD HAMSTER: Every 1000 years, the 7 rodents will appear, and a great battle will take place. Three of them good, four of them evil, the rodents will fight. HAMMY: Fight? Why? OLD HAMSTER: The leader of whose ever side wins gets one wish. 1000 years ago, the evil side won. The leader of the evil rodents hated humans. He wished that he could kill all of them. He was granted the power to do so. He was given such strength that he could rip a human's leg off. He killed many humans, but another rodent eventually killed him. HAMMY: Why are you telling me this? OLD HAMSTER: You are one of the Seven Rodents, on the side of good. You must find the other rodents and join forces. Find Mr. Bob. He'll tell you more. Take this to help you. You receive the Power Ring, and the dream ends... =============================== CHAPTER II - The Low Fat Knights Hammy will wake up and talk to Retsmah about his dream. He then notices that he has the power ring that he got from the old hamster. He then says that it must not have been a dream, and tells the whole event to Retsmah. HAMMY: ...And then the old hamster told me to find someone named "Mr. Bob." RETSMAH: That strange guy? HAMMY: You've heard of him? RETSMAH: Of course! You haven't? HAMMY: No. Where does he live? RETSMAH: A few houses down from the one we're in, I think. HAMMY: Will you take me there? RETSMAH: Sure. Retsmah will join your team again! She will have a new fire spell called "Burst" that hits all of the enemies. Plus, she is now in level 8, where as Hammy should be at about level 5 by now. Make sure to equip her with the flint tooth that you bought a while ago. You can now explore the kitchen. Near Retsmah's hole in the cabnets is a mouse hole. The mouse sells Food Pellets, Sunflower Seeds, Dry Formula (cures wet tail), Dental Floss, and Chewsticks. Buy the Chewstick (it's a weapon for Hammy) and buy the dental floss if you didn't get it earlier. Also buy plenty of sunflower seeds or food pellets. There isn't anything else to do in the kitchen, so leave. Once out of the kitchen, Retsmah leads you to a hole. She says the hole goes under the house and then outside. Go in the hole. A rock is blocking the path. Hammy and Snifster try to push the rock away, but they can't. Retsmah will help them and the rock will move. Follow the path underground. The enemies here are very though. Use sunflower seeds to stay in good health. On the path you can find some hamster- sized treasure chests. One has 150 specks, the next has a coffee straw (a weaker weapon for Hammy that protects against sleep), and the last one has 5 food pellets. Continue on until you reach a large room. A giant salamander will attack you, and you'll have to fight it. The Salamander would be easy if he didn't have one move- Sucker Tongue. Sucker Tongue is a drain attack- It drains your HP and gives it to the Salamander. Salamander will use this to heal itself. Just keep attacking and healing with sunflower seeds, and the fight will soon be over. Continue through the path and you'll end up right outside of the house. Snifster comments that he's never been outside before. Hammy will hear someone saying his name. He turns around to see three hamsters. One is clad in blue armor. Another one of them has a scar over his face. They all have small swords. HAMMY: Who are you? ARMORED HAMSTER: We are the Low Fat Knights. My name is Wyvern and this [points to the scarred hamster] is Jaws and this [points to the other hamster] is Gnaws. HAMMY: Are you one of the Seven Rodents? WYVERN: Indeed. HAMMY: Yes! I'm supposed to find the other hamsters on the side of good. Will you join me? WYVERN: I would, but theirs a problem. You see, I'm on the side of evil. It is my job to kill you. HAMMY: (Gulp)! Now, of course, you have to fight the Low Fat Knights. This will be an easy battle, because all you have to do is defeat one of the knights and they'll all leave. Attack Gnaws, he's the weakest. All they mainly do is attack, but the Low Fat Knights have a strong move called Lite Sword. Watch out for it, it can reduce your HP by a lot! After one of the hamsters is low on HP, the battle will end. WYVERN: (Gasp)! Rats! You puny fools! SNIFSTER: If we're so puny, how come we beat you? WYVERN: I let you win! Remember, we'll be back! A portal materializes. Wyvern, Gnaws and Jaws jump in, and the portal closes. =============================== Chapter III- The Road to Bob's You are now outside of the house. Walking east is the only way you can go, because if you go any other way Retsmah will bite you and say, "That's the wrong way!" The Random encounters out here are tough. The ants hurt a lot, and are almost impossible to hit. Run away from them. After you cross one lawn (which, as a hamster, takes quite a long time) a boss called the ant lion will pop his head out and attack. The AntLion has super strong attacks, so be sure to have Hammy use Hammy Help. If you get low (and you will) heal with sunflower seeds. After the battle, AntLion will disolve, and you'll get lotsa specks. Look inside the hole and you'll find a Kite String, a stronger weapon for Snifster. You'll also find Gerble Jaw, another weapon for Retsmah. Continue on. After you get to the huge porch of the next house, stop. You'll notice a hole in it. Yes, a good ol' mouse hole! You can rest, save, and buy sunflower seeds and dry formula. Continue on. It's quite a long trek with annoying enimies like BuzzBees, Yard Lint, and Clod o' Dirt. Clod o' Dirt is hard, but he's weak aganst wind. Use Snifster's "Aero" to kill him easily. After passing four lawns, Retsmah will tell you to stop. RETSMAH: I think this is Mr. Bob's house. HAMMY: Great! Thanks! RETSMAH: I'll still come with you. I want to see Mr. Bob too* . HAMMY: Great. SNIFSTER: C'mon, I'm bored. Lets kick some- RETSMAH (bites Snifster): Shut up! * AUTHORS NOTE: Why whould Retsmah want to stay with the party? Must be those weird RPG rules. Retsmah sees an open window on the ground floor, and suggests you climb up to it. This is a neat minigame. Hammy can move up, down, left, or right to get to the Window, buthe has to avoid falling rocks (where'd those come from?) and spiders. If you get hit with a rock, you fall to the start. If a spider hits you, not only do you fall to the bottom, you also have to fight the spider in a random battle. Depending on how fast you get to the window, you'll get a certain prize: 1) Plastic Toothpick Sabre (BEST) 2) Hamster Collar 3) Cheese 4) Sunflower Seed 5) Cold Water (WORST) After that fun little mini-game, you'll be inside Bob's house. Next to the entrance there is a save orb. USE IT! If you wander any further, you'll encounter a boss. The boss is called Dust Buster. Dust Buster would be an easy boss except for the fact that it can (and eventually will) suck two of your players out of battle. Just hope Snifster isn't the only one left; his HP isn't high enough to survive by himself. The remaining character should make sure he/she keeps healed, and attack. If Hammy is left, be sure to use Hammy Help as soon as possible. Hammy Whammie works well if you have it. After the battle, the dust buster will bust open and your other two team members will rejoin you. Now you can explore around the house. It's a big house, but theres not much to do. If you try to go up the stairs, Hammy will say he's too scared and back away. There is a mousehole that sells Sunflower seeds, Dew Drops (restores MP) and Cold Water. You can also rest and save there. There is a big cage with the words "Pet Arena" written on it. Go in here. There'll be all kinds of pets- Hamsters, mice, birds, gerbles, rats, lizards, etc- in here, and many of them are placing bets on fights. There is also a REALLY high priced inn here. You can't bet on fights, but you can participate in a fight, and you have to do some fighting to move the story along. Talk to the Arena's owner, Duke Guinny Pigg, to register for a fight. The first battle you fight is aganst ten GrayLints. You encountered GrayLints back at the beginning of the game so they shouldn't be a problem. After that you fight two mice. They are hard because they have healing magic, but once they run out of MP you can win. The next battle brings you face-to-face with two fimilar faces. It's Blue Parakeet and Yellow Bird! They are pretty easy at first, after you get one of them low, yellow bird will talk: YELLOW BIRD: Squak! I'll show you a gift a got, heh heh. SNIFSTER: What are you talking about? Just give up. YELLOW BIRD: No! HAMMY: What's this "gift?" YELLOW BIRD: Hahahahaha! The power to summon creatures to do my bidding. Yellow Bird shows your party a grey ring. He uses the ring to use the "Summon Hanpan" Spell. Hanpan uses a windstrike to whipe out your entire party. This is one of those battles where you have to lose to move the plot forward. You'll wake up outside of the Arena, with only one HP for every hamster. You may want to go back into the Arena to get healed, but the inn is very pricey. On the other hand, walking all the way back to the Mouse Hole with only one HP isn't all that safe either. What I did is I used one sunflower seed on each of the hamsters and then went to the mousehole. Anyways, after you're healed up, head for the stairs. Yellow Bird will be there. He will say he's sorry for beating you up. Hammy says: HAMMY: Where did you get that power? YELLOW BIRD: Um, well, actually, an old hamster gave it to me. HAMMY: An old hamster!?! YELLOW BIRD: Yeah. RETSMAH: Why'd he give it to you? YELLOW BIRD: To tell you the truth, he said he'd give it to me if I joined you. I said yes. I decided to go to the arena to try it out. SNIFSTER: Then why did you wipe us out? YELLOW BIRD: It was fun. Besides, Duke Guinny Pigg bet money on me, and he'd get mad if I lost. RETSMAH: Yeah, like that's a good reason. YELLOW BIRD: I'll fly you up the stairs if you want me to. RETSMAH: Okay. HAMMY: But, it's scary! RETSMAH, SNIFSTER, and YELLOW BIRD: SHUT UP! Yellow Bird will bring you upstairs, one hamster at a time. HAMMY (shivering): Thanks. RETSMAH: By the way, I don't think I caught your name. YELLOW BIRD: My name is Tiedye. The humans named me that because my feathers look like a tiedyed shirt. RETSMAH: Oh. All of the sudden, a huge worm will spout out of the ground. Yet another boss battle! Yellow Bird (AKA Tiedye) will join you in this fight. He has a number of summon spells including Hanpan, Pipsi, and Sonic that will make this battle quite easy. Just do summon Hanpan and he'll use his Wind Slash attack. Two rounds of this plus everyone else's attacks should kill the worm. HAMMY (to Tiedye): Wow! Your powerfull. Will you join our team? TIEDYE: No. HAMMY: Why not? Besides, the old hamster said so. TIEDYE: I don't care. I'll go my own way. With that, Tiedye will fly away. Follow the upstairs path until you enter a room. In the room you will see a cellular phone on the floor. A hamster is talking into it. HAMSTER (to the phone): No, I said cedar chips, not pine chips! RETSMAH: Hello? Could you help us? HAMSTER (to the phone): Hold on a second. (To you?) Yes, what do you need? SNIFSTER: We are looking for someone named "Mr. Bob." HAMSTER: Th-th-that would be me. HAMMY: YOU'RE Mr. Bob? I thought he was a human! HAMSTER (laughing): No, this is me. You must be Hammy. I have something to show you. It-it's in the caves to the north. Mr. Bob joins your team! =============================== CHAPTER IV - The Seed of Ohnoarat Now that you have Mr. Bob on your team, head north. You'll see yet another mouse hole. Be sure to go in. The clerk here sells very important items- Parakeet Downs! Until now, you couldn't revive your allies in battle, and they'd come back after the battle with 1 HP. Parakeet Downs are expensive but they revive your characters, so be sure to get some! The clerk also sells the Sewing Needle, a new weapon for Hammy, the Rubber Band for Snifster, plus a thumbtack for Mr. Bob. Continue north. Strangly, you'll see a cave ahead. HAMMY: A cave? Inside a house? How can this be possible? MR BOB: It ju-just is. But only a member of the seven rodents can enter. HAMMY: I'll have to go alone, then. MR BOB: No, I'm coming too. HAMMY: Huh? RETSMAH: You're one of the seven rodents, too? Man, why couldn't I have been one? This isn't fair. HAMMY: Lets go. Retsmah, you and Snifster will have to stay out. You will enter the cave. There's really only one path to go, so just follow it. You'll see a save orb that you can use a little ways down the path. Don't worry, there aren't any random encounters here. You'll eventually come to a pool of water. A ghost of a hamster will fly out of the pool. GHOST: Do not be startled, I am not your foe. HAMMY: Who are you? GHOST: I am the ghost of Sir Ed. 1000 years ago I led the three good rodents. The four evil rodents killed us. HAMMY: I'm scared...Will they kill me? GHOST: Those rodents are dead now. This was 1000 years ago, dufuss. HAMMY: oh... GHOST: But, of course, now there are four new evil rodents, and three new good rodents. You and Mr. Bob are two of the good ones. HAMMY: I know, I met one of the evil ones. His name was Wyvern. MR BOB: Wyvern? You met him too? GHOST: Shut up, I'm supposed to be talking here! HAMMY: You're pretty mean for a good guy. GHOST: Being dead for a thousand years can put you in a bad mood. MR BOB: You don't say... GHOST: Anyways, find the three components. HAMMY: What three components? GHOST: Shut up! I was getting to that! Find the seed of Ohnoarat, the pendant of Caffeine, and the lost catsup packet. Got it? HAMMY: Yeah, then what? GHOST: Shut up! Don't interrupt me, dipwad! HAMMY: Sorry... GHOST: Bring them to Pliers, the Blacksmith. He will forge them into a key. The key leads the way to the ultimate power. Use this power to smash evil! Okay, I said it. Now go away, bums. I'm gonna take a nap. HAMMY: Wait, where are these components? MR BOB: It's too late. He's gone. You can walk past the pool of water, but there's just a wall. Turn around and go the way you came. A portal will open, and Wyvern will step out. MR BOB: Hi. We were just talking about you. WYVERN: It's you, Mr. Bob! You idiot! May your flesh rot! MR BOB: Thanks, I know your not just saying that. HAMMY: Why does he hate you, Mr. Bob? WYVERN: No time to chat. I'll kill you both! HAMMY: That sounded weird. You now fight Wyvern. He still has his Lite Sword attack, and it's more powerful than ever. Use Hammy to heal and protect, and let Mr. Bob do the fighting with his awesome magic. Wyvern, like all bosses, is strong against status effects, so don't use them. If Wyvern knocks out you or Mr. Bob, use a Parakeet Down to recover. This battle shouldn't be too hard. After Wyvern takes enough damage, the battle will cease. WYVERN: You won this time, but I have a trump card. You friends, Retsmah and Snifster, were captured by Jaws and Gnaws' band of evil hamsters. HAMMY: What! Let them go! WYVERN: No! If you want to see them alive come to the Tower of Exor. Bring the first component to the tower in exchange for your friends. HAMMY: But we don't have the first component! WYVERN: Get it, or your friends die! Mwa ha ha! Wyvern will disappear. HAMMY: Why didn't he ask us to bring him all of the components instead of just one? MR BOB: Most villains overlook that sort of thing. They're dumb. Exit the cave. On your way out, be sure to use the save orb. Outside, you'll see Jaws and Gnaws and four other sword-wielding hamsters. JAWS: We have your friendsssss... GNAWS: If you want them back- MR BOB: We know, we know, collect the component, yada yada, go to the tower, blah blah blah. GNAWS: Darn it! Wyvern never lets us do any of the fun stuff. I wanted to say that. JAWS: We have to go. But we'll leave a friend of ours here to play with, heh heh. Jaws, Gnaws, and the other hamsters will leave. A cat will appear and attack. Big Kitty has a very strong attack, plus his fur ball move puts wet tail on you. Make sure to keep healed, because Big Kitty can kill one of you in three or four attacks. About half way into the battle, Hammy will start shaking. He'll put his hands on his head and shout "We're done for!" All of the sudden a shadowy figure will leap out of nowhere and slash Big Kitty. The figure comes into the light...it's Fluff, the insane hamster from the start of the game. Fluff's attacks are very powerful. He doesn't have any moves right now, but his strength makes up for it. You'll easily win now. FLUFF: Heh heh! That was fun! HAMMY: We're on a quest, Fluff. Will you join us? FLUFF: Will there be a lot of fighting? MR BOB: Yeah! We might even die! FLUFF: Cool! I'll come. =============================== Chapter V - Dwarf Hamster's Village Yay! Fluff joins. He is equipped with Iron Claws, which, as you may have noticed in that last battle, are pretty strong. Now, head back through Mr. Bob's house until you get to the stairs where Tiedye helped you. Hammy will be scared to go down, but Fluff will push him and he'll fall to the bottom (seem familiar?). Mr. Bob and Fluff will crawl down after Hammy. At the bottom of the stairs, you might want to check back at the arena. You can win cool prizes by fighting (see the "Arena" section). Go to the window where you entered the house. You will climb outside into the yard. HAMMY: Now where do we go? We have to find the seed of Ohnoarat. MR BOB: Hmmmm...Maybe it grows on the legendary tree of Ohnoarat. HAMMY: I've never heard of that. MR BOB: It exists, but it won't be easy to get to. Should we try? HAMMY: Of course! It's the only way to save Retsmah and Snifster. MR BOB: We should talk to Moch. HAMMY: Who??? MR BOB: He's a friend of mine. He can get us to the tree of Ohnoarat. He lives in the treehouse to the north. HAMMY: Lets go. You are now back on the outside overworld map. Go north. If you go to far in any other direction, Mr. Bob will say: "N-no, this isn't the right way." The enemies are tougher than the last time you were on the overworld, so be careful. Hummingbirds are hard because they can use Numb, which stuns one of your hamsters. If you have Warm Water, use it; it'll cure the numbness. You'll eventually come to a tree. MR BOB: This is where Moch lives. (MR BOB knocks on the tree. A mockingbird flies down) MOCH: Hi, Mr. Bob. What brings you here? MR BOB: We are in a desperate situation. Could you fly us to the tree of Ohnoarat? MOCH: Sure, for 1000 specks. If you have the specks, you'll give them to Moch the Mockingbird. If not, fight around on the overworld until you have enough and come back. After you pay Moch, you will all get on his back. You'll fly into the sky. You can't control Moch, so just enjoy the ride. During the ride, Moch will talk to you. MOCH: The tree of Ohnoarat lies on the mountain of Ohnoarat. I can get you almost to the top of the mountain. MR BOB: Great. Moch will drop you off near the top of the mountain. He will wait for you until you get back. Head up the trail. The monsters here are pretty hard, so be careful. Along the way are some hamster-size treasure chests. One contains the Pin, a better weapon for Hammy. Another has Bronze Claws for Fluff. Another has three Morning Dew Drops, which restore MP. The rest of the chests just have some specks. Continue up the mountain. Near the very top, a rabbit will attack you. The rabbit has a lot of HP, but is not very strong. He uses the Eat a Carrot move to regain HP. Have Hammy and Fluff attack while Mr. Bob uses magic. The bunny is weak against fire, so use Mr. Bob's Annoyance spell if you have it. The battle will end and you'll get the match, a weapon for Hammy. The match is weaker than the pin, but it does fire-elemental damage. After the battle you will reach the mountain's top. Upon reaching the summit you'll enter the town of the Dwarf Hamsters *. Enter the item shop. The dwarf hamster clerk sells the regular items (sunflower seeds, parakeet downs, etc) plus two others: the Shiny Piece of Metal and the Rage Earmuffs. They are both accessories. The Shiny Piece of Metal raises attack and the Rage Earmuffs allow you to counterattack 10% of the times you are attacked. Both are great for Fluff, and you might want to buy an extra pair of Rage Earmuffs because they are very useful. Also, you'll probably need to rest and save at the inn. The house to the eastern side of the town belongs to Pliers, the blacksmith. Go inside to talk to him. PLIERS: Hi, Mr. Bob! What brings you way up here? HAMMY: Everyone seems to know Mr. Bob. MR BOB: We are looking for the seed of Ohnoarat. PLIERS: I tried to get it myself, but the guardians of Ohnoarat stopped me. MR BOB: Guardians? PLIERS: Yes. Two hamsters were made by the Ohnoarat tree to guard the seed. FLUFF: We'll take care of them. PLIERS: There is a path inside the tree that leads to the seed. MR BOB: Okay. Thanks Pliers. Exit the Dwarf Hamster's village. You'll see the Tree of Ohnoarat. Go up to it. You'll enter a hole in the bark. It's very mazey in here. Navigate through the many pathways. If you get to a dead end, just retrace your steps and take a different path. The Sap enemies and the Wood Mite enemies here hate fire, so it would be a good idea to equip the Match. At the end of the maze you come to a room with the seed in the middle. When you enter two green hamsters will appear. XYLEM: We're the guardians of this tree. I'm Xylem. PHLOEM: I'm Phloem. XYLEM: We'll have to kill you now! FLUFF: Yeah! A fight! You'll enter yet another fight. These guys are STRONG against fire so switch back to the Pin instead of the match. Xylem uses Bio attacks such as Xylem Ivy and Thorn, plus he has a move called Spore Swarm which causes Wet Tail. Phloem uses healing moves, so take him out first. After that, the battle should go smoothly. Soon you should be able to win. XYLEM and PHLOEM: Waaa! We lost! We're a disgrace to Ohnoarat! Xylem and Phloem will disappear. Take the seed of Ohnoarat. It appears as a key item. You'll instantly be warped out of the tree. Go through the Dwarf Hamster's Village. Head back down the mountain path that you came from until you come to Moch. *There is an actual breed of hamsters called "Dwarf Hamsters." They are small with black or white fur, usually. =============================== CHAPTER VI - The Tower of Exor When you get back to Moch, you'll also see Pliers waiting for you. He'll congratulate you on your work and and give you the Dwarf Charm. This accessory cuts MP use by 10%, so it would work good on Mr. Bob. Mock will then fly you back to the Mockingbird Tree. When you land, you'll see a merchant mouse with a cart. You can buy things from him and you can also take a rest in his hammock. Be sure to by Parakeet Downs. After resting and stocking up, head in any direction. A huge, metallic eagle will fly out of the sky and land beside you. A door will open on the eagle and Wyvern will step out. WYVERN: Follow my eagle airship to the tower of Exor. And bring the seed, if you want to see your friends alive. MR BOB: Gee, this seems familiar. WYVERN: Shut up! Just do it. Wyvern will hop into the eagle and fly away. You will get on Moch and follow him. You see a short FMV of the eagle airship flying through the sky, and a mockingbird (Moch) following it. They come to a giant tower. A shaft opens in the tower, and the eagle goes inside. Moch follows. The FMV ends and you are inside the tower. You hop off Moch. MOCH: You guys owe me big time. HAMMY: We'll pay you back later. You be in control of Hammy. The metal eagle is nowhere in sight. The tower is made of dark rock, but the walls are lined with advanced gadgetry and machine parts. There's really only one path to go, so follow it. There are some really tough enemies here, such as Mice Knights, Metallic Lint, and Dragonflies. The Dragonflies are really hard but they are weak against ice, so use Mr. Bob's Deadpan attack. This tower is a pretty confusing maze. You'll often end up at a dead end and have to backtrack. At the end of each floor, there are two doors. One leads to the next floor and the other leads to a dead-end with an item. You'll have to decide whether it's worth the trip for the items. I've listed the items on each floor to help you: First Floor (You start here): Cheese Second Floor: Rat's Dirk (weapon for Mr. Bob) Third Floor: 2000 specks Fourth Floor: Morning Dew Drop On the fifth floor is a laboratory. Enter and you'll find a bunch of machines. A hamster in a lab coat will step forward. IONIC: Hi, I am Dr. Ionic. I have been advised to kill you all. FLUFF: Not if we beat you to it. IONIC: I'll use my vast array of office supplies to defeat you. MR BOB: I don't think that will work. IONIC: In that case, I'll use my newest invention. Come here Mechahamster! You see a robot hamster charge towards you. You have to fight it. This is basically a regular battle. Use strong attacks and keep healed. Mechahamster doesn't have any spells, but his regular attacks are very powerful. When he gets low, Dr. Ionic will enter the battle. Ionic will use a move called "Repair" to heal Mechahamster. With that considered, you may want to get rid of Ionic before finishing off Mechahamster. Once low on HP, Ionic will scurry away. From there, just get rid of Mechahamster. Continue through the tower. Near the end of the fifth floor is a bed. You can rest on it to recover HP/MP. Do so. The sixth floor has very hard enemies on it, so you may have to make a return trip to the bed. Here's the rest of the tower treasures: Fifth Floor: Hamster Collar Sixth Floor: Figurine's Sword Once you reach the seventh floor, you'll come to a room. Wyvern is inside, talking into a crystal ball. He does not notice you. WYVERN: He is almost here. He has the seed. DARK VOICE: Good. You are doing well, Wyvern. WYVERN: Thanks. DARK VOICE: Shut up! Evil dudes aren't supposed to be polite. WYVERN: Oh yeah. (Turns around and sees you) So you've arrived. HAMMY: Yes. WYVERN: Give me the seed. HAMMY: No, free my friends first. WYVERN: Give me the seed or I'll kill your friends. HAMMY: Kill our friends and we'll never give you the seed. WYVERN: Just give me the stupid seed! Mr. Bob takes out the seed and gives it to Wyvern. WYVERN: Wha ha ha haha! I got the seed! I got the seed! FLUFF: Shut up! WYVERN: Now to kill you and your friends! HAMMY: You said you wouldn't kill our friends if we gave you the seed! WYVERN: You good guys are all the same. You expect us to tell the truth? Wyvern presses a red button on a computer panel. COMPUTER VOICE: Tower will self-destruct in five minutes. Thank you. A timer will appear in the corner of the screen with 5:00 on it. A portal materializes. Taking the crystal ball, Wyvern jumps through the portal. Mr. Bob goes to the computer panel and presses the "off" button. COMPUTER VOICE: Tower self-destruction canceled. Thank you. HAMMY: Yeah! Continue into the next room where you'll find Retsmah and Snifster tied up. Hammy will free them. SNIFSTER: Thanks. RETSMAH: Yeah, what took you so long? HAMMY: But now we've lost the Seed of Ohnoarat to Wyvern. MR BOB: No we didn't. HAMMY: Huh? MR BOB: I gave him a pumpkin seed instead of the real one. Bob pulls out the real seed to show everyone. HAMMY: Yes! Great Work, Mr. Bob! RETSMAH: Seed of Ohnoarat? What's that? Hammy tells Retsmah and Snifster about everything that happened while they were gone. You automatically go back to where Moch is waiting for you. He takes you back out of the tower. =============================== Chapter VII - Imperial Capital Sophia As the gang is flying out of Exor Tower on Moch, Hammy inquires about the next component. HAMMY: Mr. Bob, is it okay if I ask you where the next component is? MR BOB: Sure. HAMMY: Okay, where is the next component? MR BOB: The Pendant of Caffeine is the next component, right? It is located in the vaults of Imperial Capital Sophia, the capitol city of Mesocricetus Valley. RETSMAH: Mesocricetus Valley? Isn't that the valley populated solely by hamsters? MR BOB: Yes. But the pendant will be hard to get. It is regarded as the valley's greatest treasure. HAMMY: Moch, take us to Mesocricetus Valley. MOCH: This is gonna cost you extra. * * * You see a giant palace. It has many towers. The palace itself is colored white, and the tops of the towers are blue. Around the palace is a great city populated by hamsters. You get an inside view of the palace, and see a room inside. A young female hamster with white fur is lying on a hamster bed, crying. There is a knock at the door. FEMALE HAMSTER: Who is it? VOICE: It is I, Nate. The queen wishes too speak to you regarding your job. FEMALE HAMSTER: I hate my job. I hate being a maid. You get to be an imperial messenger, while I am only a lowly maid. I wish I could go on an adventure. NATE: You sound like one of those rebellious princesses. FEMALE HAMSTER: I wish I were a princess. Then I could order people around. NATE: Snap out of it, Sophie. You mustn't feel bad about being a maid. Now come, we must see the queen. SOPHIE: No, Nate, I won't go. Her majesty can find her another maid, the bum! NATE: Why such harsh words towards the queen? SOPHIE: Oh, get off it Nate. You know she's corrupt and arrogant. Nate will come in. You now control Sophie, the female hamster. Nate joins you. You have to navigate around the palace. Talk to the servant hamsters you find throughout the place. They all seem to despise the queen. There is also a shop in the palace, but Sophie doesn't have any money. Once you reach the Queen's hall, Sophie hesitates. SOPHIE: I don't wish to speak to the Queen. Let's go back. NATE: No. C'mon Sophie, what could it hurt? Maybe she wishes to promote you. SOPHIE: Maybe your right. NATE: Oh, by the way, doesn't it seem ironic that this town is called Imperial Capitol Sophia and your name is Sophie? SOPHIE: My mother named me after the town, of course. NATE: Oh. You enter the thrown room. QUEEN: Ah, Sophie. I wish to speak with you. I am very displeased with your performance as a maid. I will cut your pay by ten percent. SOPHIE: You never have paid me in the first place! QUEEN: Oh, in that case...um... SOPHIE: What have I done badly at as a maid? QUEEN: Just yesterday the princess complained of you not cleaning her chambers sufficiently. SOPHIE: With all due respect, your majesty, the princess is a pompous rear-end. QUEEN: What!?! How dare you talk about my daughter that way!?! SOPHIE: By the way, I was wondering if I could leave the palace and explore the outside. QUEEN: Ha ha ha! What would you do outside? SOPHIE: I dunno, maybe join a small group of heroes trying to save the world or something. QUEEN: Nonsense. You know that my servants are never allowed to leave the palace. SOPHIE: You don't own me! I'm my own hamster. QUEEN: I do too own you. Now get back to work. SOPHIE: No, I won't work any more. What'cha gonna do about it? QUEEN: Get back to work or I'll kick you out of the palace. SOPHIE: Sounds good. QUEEN: Oh, wait. That's what you wanted in the first place. Well, instead I'll have to lock you in the dungeon. Guards, take her away. Two Hamsters will escort you to the dungeon and lock you in a cell. You can save here. After a minuite, Nate will come to the cell with a key and unlock it. NATE: I'll get in big trouble for doing this, but... SOPHIE: Lets get outta here. You now have to navigate through the dungeon. Pieces of lint roam about the floor and you have to fight them. Nate has no special abilities but he attacks with a Pen Lance, which is pretty powerful. Sophie, on the other hand, has no weapon (she has to use her fists for now) but she has some cool moves. Mind Gnaw hurts one foe and Psychic Sniff hurts a group. The dungeon isn't very difficult to get though, and there's three chests along the way with a food pellet, a dew drop, and a piece of cheese in them. Once you get to the end of the dungeon a guard will attack you. He is difficult because his spear causes a lot of damage. Have Nate heal while Sophie bashes him with her moves and you'll make short work of him. Once you exit the dungeon, the screen will fade out. You'll now see Hammy and his friends getting off Moch. HAMMY: Is this Mesocricetus Valley? MR BOB: Yep. FLUFF: I'm in the mood for a fight. SNIFSTER: Wait, Fluff, you'll get your chance. RETSMAH: So where is the capital of this valley? MR BOB: I don't know. Your now on the overworld map of Mesocricetus Valley. There are a lot of places to go here. Go to Burrowers Town to the north. It's a very small hamster town with a few shops. Buy the Twist Tie for Snifster, but don't buy the Rabbit Fang for Retsmah because you'll find her a better weapon soon. Also stock up on Sunflower Seeds and Morning Dew Drops. The hamsters in the town talk about how they like living in the wild and how they hate the queen of the valley. Exit the village and head southeast on the map until you come to Imperial Capital Sophia. Once in the castle, you'll bump into Sophie and Nate. HAMMY: Hi, we are looking for the Pendant of Caffeine. Do you know where it is? SOPHIE: Oh, are you a small group of heroes trying to save the world? MR BOB: You might say that. SOPHIE: Well, the Pendant of Caffeine is in the Imperial Vaults. You should talk to the queen about it. Oh, I don't suppose I could join your team, eh? HAMMY: Well, I guess. We need all the help we can get. SOPHIE: Great! I'll meet you outside the castle. Sophie and Nate run off. Go to the thrown room and you'll see the queen. Hammy will ask her about the pendant. QUEEN: Yes, I have the pendant, and I'll give it to you if you complete one simple task. A snake has been pestering the citizens of the valley. Get rid of it, and the pendant is yours. HAMMY: A s-s-snake? QUEEN: Its only a garden snake. It shouldn't be to much trouble for you warriors. FLUFF: Yay! Lets eat the snake! RETSMAH: Yeah, we can take him! HAMMY: W-w-well, I g-guess. SNIFSTER: Don't be so frightened, Hammy. We can do it! Exit the castle and Sophie and Nate will greet you. SOPHIE: So, did you get that pendant? HAMMY: No, the queen said we had to kill a snake to get it. SOPHIE: I know where the snake's liar is. I'll take you there. HAMMY: Okay. SOPHIE: But the passage is only wide enough for three hamsters to fit through. Me and Nate will come with you. Your party now consists of Hammy, Sophie, and Nate. Sophie will lead you to the snakes lair. Once inside the Snake's Lair, proceed with caution. The fire ant enemies can paralyze you. Use Hammy's Pure Fur spell to cure it. If you encounter large numbers of Fire Ants, use Sophie's Psychic Sniff to wipe them all out, but be sure to conserve some MP for the boss. Along the way you can find Cheese and a chest with 5,000 specks inside. Once you get to a certain point, Hammy will start shivering. Be sure you're all healed up, because the snake is in the next room. The snake is a semi-hard boss. Make sure Hammy casts Hammy Help on Nate to boost his attack because all Nate does any ways is attack. Hammy should use his MP to heal while Nate and Sophie bash away at the snake. The snake has a move called Bitter Breath which puts wet tail on the entire group. His regular attack can also paralyze you. Once defeating this beast you will receive Snake's Fang, a weapon for Retsmah. Head back to the palace. Sophie and Nate will stay outside. QUEEN: Good work, but I have another task for you. Enter the Battle Tournament and win, then I'll give you the pendant. HAMMY: Doesn't look like we have much of a choice.... ---COMING NEXT CHAPTER--- Yet another one of those classic RPG tournament scenes. =============================== CHAPTER 8 - The Strong The queen will lead you down to the castle arena, where the tournament is being held. There are five events in the tournament. Even though you only have to win one event to proceed, it is good to enter all of them because of the awesome prizes you can earn. You can only enter one hamster in each event. The events: #1 One on one. This is a straight-forward fight. Choose a character to enter the event. You will fight one-on-one with another warrior. The warrior isn't that hard, so don't worry. Recommended Character: Any Prize: Nail (weapon for Hammy) #2 Wizard's Event. This is an extremely hard event. Only spells will hurt your opponent. Make sure to have plenty of healing and MP-restoring items on hand. Recommended Character: Retsmah, Sophie, or Mr. Bob Prize: Teddy Bear's Charm #3 Fighter's Event. This is just the opposite of the wizard's event. Now only regular attacks hurt your foe. Recommended Character: Fluff, Nate Prize: Slicer (weapon for Fluff) #4 Speed Challenge. You must race through a small dungeon before the timer runs out. There are random encounters. It may be a good idea to run away frequently to save time. Recommended Character: Hammy, Sophie, Snifster Prize: Speed Shoes #5 Monster Arena. You must fight your way through 5 rounds. Each round has monsters from various parts of the game. Recommended Character: Any Prize: Cheer Band If you lose in any event, don't worry. You only have to pass one to win. You cannot, however, re-enter any event, and if you lose them all, it's a game over, so be sure to save before entering the tournament. After completing an event, you will be able to continue, but at least try to win the rest of the events for the prizes. After you have finished, go through a door in the back (it will be locked if you haven't won an event). You will now have to complete the "Really Big Semi-Important Final Match of the Tournament." You will choose 3 characters to enter the "Really Big Semi- Important Final Match of the Tournament." Hammy has to be in your party. I recommend choosing Fluff and Sophie as the other two characters. You step into the playing field. The queen and others set to the side to watch the battle. QUEEN: This is the "Really Big Semi-Important Final Match of the Tournament." To win, you must defeat the enemy team. The enemy team steps onto the playing field. It's Wyvern, Gnaws, and Jaws! WYVERN: So we meet again, Hammy. HAMMY: Why did you enter the tournament? WYVERN: For the same reason you did, Hammy. To get the Pendant of Caffeine. HAMMY: You can't have it. We will win it. WYVERN: You're always in my way. I kill you for good this time! Feel the wraith of the Low Fat Knights! The battle begins. Use Hammy to heal, and, when no one is hurt badly, he should use Hammy Help on his allies and himself. You should take out Gnaws first, because he can heal. Fluff should attack him, and have Sophie use Mind Gnaw on him, and he'll be gone soon. Next attack Jaws, and finally Wyvern. This is a long battle, because they have lots of hit points. After you defeat Gnaws and Jaws, hovever, the rest is a snap. After the battle, a portal will appear. WYVERN: Arrrgggagh! My ultra low fat powers don't seem to work well here. You have not seen the last of us! HAMMY: Bye. Wyvern, Jaws, and Gnaws will jump in the portal. It closes. HAMMY: (to the queen) Your highness, we won the "Really Big Semi-Important Final Match of the Tournament." Can we have the pendant? QUEEN: No. I was kidding when I said I'd give it to you. So there! FLUFF: Give us the pendant or I'll hungrily devour you. QUEEN: How barbaric! Guards! Four guards attack. You now have your whole party to fight with, so the battle should be easy. After the guards are defeated, the queen will give up. QUEEN: Fine, here's your stupid pendant, you bums! Now get out of my kingdom. SOPHIE: Fine, we will. NATE: Oh no, not me. I don't like adventures. I'm staying here. Your party, minus Nate, will exit the arena and return to where Moch was, but he seems to be gone. HAMMY: Where did Moch go? That stupid bird! =============================== Chapter 9 - The Hunt for Moch HAMMY: We've gotta find Moch. That dumb bird is the only way out of here! SOPHIE: Not exactly. There is an underground tunnel that leads out of Mesocricetus Valley. If we use it we can leave. SNIFSTER: But we gotta find Moch! RETSMAH: Why? SNIFSTER: 'Cause this chapter's called "The Hunt for Moch." MR BOB: Who cares! The author must have made a typo. C'mon. Go to the northeastern part of Mesocricetus Valley and you'll find the underground tunnel. It's guarded by, well, guards. These are the same type of guards you fought in Imperial Capital Sophia. You have to fight them, but they're not hard. After defeating them, enter the tunnel. The tunnel is really just a huge pipe stuck in the earth that twists underground. It is very long. There's numerous enemies inside, including more of those stupid castle guards. Luckily, there's a save point in the middle of the pipe. You don't have to explore the pipe because it just keeps going in a single direction. There are no treasures in the pipe. Once you exit the pipe, you'll find yourself in a small cavern full of hamsters. One of them greets your party. ELDER HAMSTER: Greetings. You startled us. We thought you were one of the Queen's guards. HAMMY: No. We are a group of hamsters trying to save the world. You wouldn't know where the last component, the Lost Catsup Packet, is? ELDER HAMSTER: Actually I do. I'll tell you on one condition: You leave some of your allies here to defend this hamster town. HAMMY: But I need my friends' help to get the packet. ELDER HAMSTER: I'm not asking them to stay here forever. Just until things get a bit more peaceful. A few of you can retrieve the catsup packet while the rest stay here. When you return, you and your friends can all leave to continue on your journey. HAMMY: Does that seem fair, guys? RETSMAH, SNIFSTER, MR BOB, SOPHIE: Yes. FLUFF: But only if I don't get stuck guarding the stinkin' village. ELDER HAMSTER: Then it's set. The Lost Catsup packet is located in the Earth's Core. HAMMY: The EARTH'S CORE!!!???! How are we supposed to get there? ELDER HAMSTER: We have a well in our village that goes far underground. You can use it to reach the core, I think. HAMMY: If it's a well, won't it have water in it? ELDER HAMSTER: It was built by an ancient race of hamsters called Squeaks. The Squeaks were a dumb race of rodents. They built the well really deep underground but didn't use it for anything. HAMMY: Okay, we'll try the well. Now you have to split up the party into two groups. You should put a fighter in each group. In the group that's going down the well, I'd choose: Hammy (Fighter) Mr. Bob Retsmah In the group left behind: Fluff (Fighter) Sophie Snifster Now you'll be able to walk around with the first group. Go to the store. Buy plenty of restorative items. Next go to the weapon shop. Buy the Pocket Knife Blade for Hammy, the Dumb Knife for Bob, the Cat Claws for Fluff and Sophie's first weapon, the Squeak Spear. Next talk to all the hamsters in the town. Many will talk about magic armor stored deep underground. Next talk to the elder hamster. He will give you a weird looking key. He says to use it on a door (where else would you use it?). Now it's time to go down the well. For quite a while you have to climb down a rope. When you finally reach solid ground, jump off of the rope. You see a sign. The sign says "Welcome to Hazard's Wake. Population = a whole lotta ghosts." HAMMY: G-g-g-g-g-ghosts! We should be careful not to meet any of those. Hazard's Wake is very mazey. There are lots of paths with dead ends, so be careful. The monsters in here can quickly tear up your HP so be sure to go back to the village if you need a rest. There are some ghost enemies, such as the Spoony Specters. All ghosts have the ability to put the frightened status effect on you, which cuts your attack and defense powers by 50%. As you get farther on, you'll see that the walls and parts of the floor are made of ash or magma. Don't touch these because they do a ton of damage to you. When you reach the end of Hazard's Wake, you'll see a huge door. When you go up to it it will open by itself. Inside is a dead end with a save point at it and a sign. The sign says "Ha ha, fooled you." This part took me a while to figure out. Go back through the door. Sand next to the huge door and use the Weird Looking Key from your item list. A hole will open under you and you'll fall to a hidden room. An eerie voice will say "THE SPIRT OF THE SQEAKS STILL LOOMS ABOUT HERE." Continue through the room until you see a golden platter with a catsup packet. HAMMY: The lost catsup packet! But this couldn't be the Earth's Core! VOICE: THIS IS NOT THE EARTH'S CORE. THOSE BUMS IN THE VILLAGE WERE WRONG. HAMMY: Who are you? A huge ghost of a hamster appears. GHOST HAMSTER: I am the ghost of the Squeaks. My people were morons, but I was different. I was assigned to guard this place, but I died of eating molten lava. My spirit now warders around this room, KILLING ANYONE who tries to take the catsup packet. HAMMY: We need the catsup packet! GHOST: THEN I HAVE TO KILL YOU!!!! You fight the ghost. He will use "Boo!" to put Frightened status on your entire party. Have Mr. Bob use his magic to cure it. The hard part about fighting the ghost is that his moves drain HP from you and give it to him. The ghost has very little hits but he can heal himself so quickly. You just have to through your best moves at him and hope he can't heal quick enough. You'll get a ton of exp and specks for defeating the ghost. All of the sudden, Wyvern will appear and take the catsup packet! WYVERN: Thanks for defeating that creepy ghost so I wouldn't have too! Heh heh! HAMMY: Give us the catsup packet now! WYVERN: No! (Wyvern gives you a map) Bring the other two components to the dark castle on the map. We'll...work out some sort of deal. And don't bring a fake like you did with that stupid pumpkin seed! (Wyvern disappears) HAMMY: Looks like we don't have much a choice. =============================== Chapter 10 - The Lost Catsup Packet Back at the hamster village where your allies are (you left them there last chapter, remember?) an attack is going on. You must fight off the imperial troops. Make sure to conserve your items and your strength. After fighting about 6 battles with troops, a rat with a stupid-looking hat will enter the village through the pipe, accompanied by soldiers. RAT: I am the Duke of Sophia. The Queen orders this town be taken in the name of the empire? SNIFSTER: If Sophia is an empire, why do they have a queen? Shouldn't she be called an Empress? RAT: It used to be a monarchy until she took over and declared herself Queen. Ooops, I'm not supposed to let people know that. SNIFSTER: Oh. FLUFF: You're not gonna take the town while we're around!!! RAT: That's the idea. Soldiers, KILL THEM!!! FLUFF: Bring it on! I'll rip up all you guys! You now have to fight 5 hamster soldiers and 2 hamster clerics. Take out the clerics first because they have healing magic. The soldiers have strong attacks, and can use Sniff Blade, a powerful physical attack, so make sure to watch your HP. After defeating them, you have to fight the Rat Duke. He has many magic spells such as Purple Death (puts "Disease" status on party), Lemon Acid (fire damage to party) and MetaHeal (heals the duke). Use curative items to heal Disease, or, if you have Mr. Bob, use his magic. This battle is long because of Duke's large supply of HP, but can eventually be won if you have plenty of items. When you win you'll get Duke's Spear, a weapon for Sophie. Around this time, Hammy and the others come out of the well. SNIFSTER: What happened down there? HAMMY: We almost got the Lost Catsup Packet but Wyvern got it first. He said to follow this map to their castle. According to the map the castle's a long way north of Mesocricetus Valley. RETSMAH: How will we get there? The Valley's walls are too steep to climb. VOICE: Perhaps I can be of assistance. HAMMY: Wha? Who're you? MOCH: (Stepping out of the shadows) It's me, Moch. I'm back! HAMMY: Where did you go? We needed you're help! MOCH: I heard you needed to go to the dark castle. I'll take you there... for 10 thousand specks. HAMMY: TEN THOUSAND SPECKS? That's outrageous! MOCH: Pay up or you'll never get there! If you have ten thousand specks, which is unlikely, pay Moch. If not, go back into the well and fight monsters until you have the cash. Talk to the village elder. He'll thank you and give you some money, and allow you to join your allies and leave the village. After you have the 10 thousand, go back to Moch. MOCH: Thanks, pals. Now, off to the Dark Castle! * * * Moch will drop you off by the dark castle. The castle is really a big, outdoor water fountain that the evil hamsters chewed holes in to make passages. Enter the "castle." The path is pretty strait forward. The monsters in here are hard. If you get low on HP or supplies, you can exit the castle and Moch will take you back to Mesocricetus Valley. Luckily, you won't have to pay 10 thousand specks to go back ^_^ . Once you get to the top, you'll see Wyvern. WYVERN: Welcome! Took you long enough! HAMMY: What are you planning, Wyvern? WYVERN: As you know, I am one of the chosen ones, one of the Hamsters of Evil, just as you are a chosen hamster of goodness. HAMMY: So? WYVERN: There are three other evil rodents. I'd like to introduce you to Raydon. (A hamster with red-orange fur steps up) RAYDON: Call me Ray. WYVERN: Raydon is yet another hamster of evil. Together, we can blow you off this blasted Earth! A battle begins. This is the hardest battle yet. You have to fight Wyvern, his two sidekicks (Jaws and Gnaws) plus Raydon! As always, Gnaws has to go first because of his pesky healing magic. Next take out Jaws. These two have very little HP so its good to quickly get rid of them. Raydon should be your next target. He uses fire magic such as Exploder and Burst Blast. His weakness, accordingly, is ice. Use Snifster's Ice Cube move along with Bob's Deadpan move to deal heavy damage to Ray. When Ray is low on HP, he'll scurry away. Wyvern is last to take out. He'll use his annoying sword skills, but it's nothing you've not seen before. He too will run when his HP is low. Continue to the top of the castle. On a raised pillar you'll find the Lost Catsup Packet! Take it. MR BOB: Congrats, Hammy. You've found all of the Components. Take them to Pliers the Blacksmith. I've done my part, so I'll be leaving. HAMMY: Please don't leave, Mr. Bob! We need your help! You're on one the rodents of Goodness! MR BOB: I have some problems of my own to work out. I wish you luck in the future. Goodbye. Mr. Bob leaves the party... =============================== Chapter 11 - The Ethereal World Your party is now outside of the castle. HAMMY: The ghost of Sir Ed said to take the three components to Pliers the blacksmith once we got them. SOPHIE: Where is this "Pliers" fellow? HAMMY: He lives on the Dwarf Hamster village on Ohnoarat Mountain. (Moch approaches) MOCH: Did you say Ohnoarat Mountain? I can take you there. HAMMY: Great! MOCH: ...for 100 thousand specks. HAMMY: WHAT! NO WAY! MOCH: Only joking. Its no cost. Moch will drop you off on the mountain. It's still a short climb to the Dwarf hamster village, but the enemies here are as weak as they were the first time you came. Once in the village, go to Plier's house. HAMMY: Pliers! We have the three components! PLIERS: Hey, that's good! I can make something useful with these. Come back later. Go rest in the inn. Then go back to Pliers. PLIERS: Done! I forged the power of the components into this orb. Here. -Receive Warp Orb- HAMMY: What's this? (A flash of light brightens the room and the ghost of Sir Ed appears. ED: Hammy! You have been doing well on your quest. That orb you have is very powerful. It will take you to the Ethereal World. HAMMY: Ethereal world? ED: The battle between good and evil took place in the Ethereal world 1000 years ago. It is said that the first team to reach the Ethereal world and gather the seeds of light would win the war. 1000 years ago, we good rodents reached the Ethereal world, but the evil rodents were already there. They had disabled the seeds of light. This unlocked an awesome power that they used to eradicate us. Now the new evil rodent team led by Wyvern attempts to reach the Ethereal world. HAMMY: But they have to have a warp orb to enter, right? ED: Yes. Magic these days is not powerful enough to allow travel to the Ethereal world. Only the combined power of the three components forged into an orb can take you there. HAMMY: So, since we’re the only ones with an orb, only we can get into the Ethereal world, right? ED: Yes. HAMMY: How do we use the orb? ED: Travel to a warp nexus and hold up the orb to travel there. HAMMY: Warp nexus? ED: A warp nexus is an area in which pure life energy flows. The tree on top of this mountain is a warp nexus. HAMMY: Then we better get going before Wyvern shows up to try and steal the orb. ED: Yes. Take this with you. In life, it was my sword. -Received Vorpal Blade!- ED: Good luck! Go to the Ohnoarat Tree and find the spot where you found the Ohnoarat seed. Hammy will take out the orb and a portal will materialize. HAMMY: Yay! Lets go in! SNIFSTER: No, wait. I saw someone back there. HAMMY: Then we should go in the portal as fast as possible. If it’s Wyvern he’ll try to grab our orb. With that, your party jumps into the portal. * * * You and your party appear in a cavern with with blue walls. You sand right in front of a dragon (yes, a dragon) that’s about ten times your size. You must fight it. The Wind Dragon is hard because of his vast amount of HP plus his tornado attacks. However, it’s weak against Psi attacks. Use Sophie’s Psi moves and the Vorpal Blade (it’s Psi elemental) to put the hurt on this beast. It will heal itself with MetaHeal when it gets low on HP. When it starts healing, hit it with everything you’ve got. Make sure you hurt it more than it heals each time and you’ll be assured of victory. Once you win you’ll receive the Wind Spear. A hamster in a cloak will appear. He floats in the air and his cloak covers all of his face except his mouth. ETHEREAL: Greetings. I am the Ethereal of the wind. That dragon stole my powers and nested in this cavern. SOPHIE: Just where is this place? ETHEREAL: This is Gem Cavern, the life nexus of the Ethereal world. SNIFSTER: We’re looking for something called a “Seed of light.” ETHEREAL: Here it is. (Gives you a seed) I can tell from your manner that you are the rodents of good. Use this seed and the others to thrash evil. HAMMY: Thanks. Where are the other seeds? ETHEREAL: There are many structures in our world such as this one. They should contain the seeds. We Ethereals are losing our power. The dark sprits are draining us of our strength. Go and retrieve the seeds of light! (Ethereal disappears) HAMMY: Hmm... this “Seed of Light” lokks a lot like the Seed of Ohnoarat... =============================== IV GAME INFO STATIS EFFECTS Good: Cheery: Slowly raises HP Haste: Raises speed by 50% Energized: Attack and Defense up 50% Bad: Wet Tail: Slowly lowers HP Disease: A more deadly version of Wet Tail Sleep: Puts to sleep, cannot take turns. Magic of this type sometimes inflicts status effects. *WIND- Lightning and wind spells are powerful, but not many foes are weak aganst them. *LIGHT- Can easily rid you of the undead. *PSI- Psychic elemental. Used to bend the universe to your whims. Works best on wind creatures. %%%%%Contributing%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Please send all ideas, comments, etc. to leemail20@yahoo.com %%%%%%Thanks to...%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% erggibbon@aol.com for the IAQ idea
