What's Old? (Update List #2)

This page can be summed up in three words... an update archive.

Update List #3

Saturday, July 30th--Serpent231 will be doing the honors today, and I'm not dead either! Just in case you ever wondered about that...

  • 231 Sightings updated, brought to you by Ragnarok.

  • The Midgar Swamp now has a message board! Called the Midgar Board (hey, YOU try to think of something!), it's located here, and is the place to put all your opinions, questions, rants, flames, etc. Lets just hope ReD doesn't find out about this place.

  • Due to the fact that I was bored, I ran the front page through Altavista: Translations, and of cause, it came out in French! Er...then I ran it back and it was in Daravonese. Enjoy!

  • We've got a new Not Exactly Celebrity Deathmatch! This one's between two REALLY evil villains... find out for yourself.

  • Ragnarok gave me a 231 x 5 hit multiplier award; it's on the front page! Yippe!

Thursday, July 29th-- Look! Look!! Lady Marrah's not dead! She didn't go off to Maui or something! Hehe... ^^;;

  • I added a review for the best RPG I've played in a while, Lunar SSSC

  • Added an MST of a Chrono Trigger fic mysteriously known as Silent Wind...woooooo, spooky.... O_o

  • And last but not least, I helped out all you people with older browsers by adding some stuff that was missing in the HTML, mostly on the Reviews page.

Now I'm off to add tables to the main page...mwahahahaha....

Friday, July 23rd--Well, since Jeff already did a Lash Laroo (Magoo) cheer, I guess I'll have to settle with Ric Flair's: WOOOOOOO!!! Thanks to everybody who visited this place! Maybe some of you will even bookmark us! Naaaah.

  • Whoo-hoo! Another review of a BAD game has arrived! It's an awful Gameboy game called Ring Rage, and it pained Assassin to review it. Remember, if you want to review any games, then just download this review form and fill in the blanks! Well, they're not blanks, but when you see the file, you'll know what I mean. And just for your convenience, here's the HTML version of the form, so you know what it'll look like.

  • Ragnarok (I spelled it right!) informed me of a few things: the Staff page is still linked to Tripod, the polls are down, and his new version of the already posted Gilbert Muir is a Spoony Bard hasn't been put up yet. So...now the Staff page is fine, I changed the poll to something a little better, and I posted the spiffified, de-formatted version of Gil--wait, just click the link I gave you earlier.

  • If you haven't noticed yet, Jeff gave me a 1000 hit award! Now if only I could get an award from an actual reader (nudge nudge cough cough wink wink).

  • Jeff updated his IAQ to make mine look even WORSE. Well, uh, I made an actual game of Pt. Reyes that nobody can see! Nyah!

  • Speaking of which, it looks like Pt. Reyes: The Actual Game isn't working. I tried a bunch of ways to compress it and FTP it over, but something went wrong each time. Oh, well, I can always listen to the Wild ARMs theme if I want to feel better.

  • I changed the poll to a slightly better "question". Next week...an actual question in the question spot! BTW, according to y'all last poll, the appropriate thing to do when you're confronted by a big burly guy with a club, yu shud choskk bombb him!!!!!!!". Off course! Maybe I should have done that last time I--never mind.

  • Coming soon (yes, I know this was a small update, but the poll was updated prematurely, so I had to get some stuff in): More reviews! A recap of WWF Sunday Night Heat (mwaha ha haaa...no wrestling and no floor pie makes Serpent a dullard)! A new MST! 'N Stuff!

Yuffie sez: Hey, that's, like, such a totally kewl name for a band! Fer sure!

    Quiet, you.

Wednesday, July 21st-- WHOOOOOO-OOOO-OOOOOOO-OOO---EY!!! We've done it! We've done it! We've reached over 1000 hits, BABY! And just to commemorate that, I did a couple things:

  • 1. I put this whole update in bold

  • 2. I finished snazzying up the pages with colored tables

  • 3. I put up a home-made midi, this one's gotta be the weirdest so far!

Once again, WHOOOOOO-OOOO-OOOOOOO-OOO---EY and thank all of you for the 1k hits!

Tuesday, July 20th--Hey-hey! This is the serpent tat is 231, and I've got a generic update with something special included! Is that an oxymoron?

  • Add Ons, 231 Sightings (I removed the *'s, since I didn't want to rate people who contributed--either I give them ***'s or more, or I make them feel bad by giving them a low score--and it was getting pretty tedious), Links, yada yada.

  • More Screens! As the Samurai Pizza Cats might say...Yippe!

  • As you may have noticed already, Jeff ever so kindly made a bunch of our pages table-ized! Hey, you should have made the changes after we moved to our own .com address, so it would be like Cosmo--wait, nevermind. Good dog, PaRappa!

  • Huzzah! Huzzah! I've written a review of an actual BAD game! It's called Space Bastards, and I have an obsession with putting the name in bold font. Read on, McDuff!

  • The RPG Maker game of Pt. Reyes: The Game has been uploaded to the Swamp! I have no idea if this will work or not, but it's worth a shot...Just go to RPG Maker Online to download the program, then check out the .zip file here. This might not work, but it's in a .zip file like all the others on the RPG Maker site, so it might!

  • I've got a couple announcements: 1. My fanfic has been spummed up. It's a long story, but here's the scoop: While I worked on it before, I saved it as both a .doc file and a .wps file (that's Microsoft Works). Right now, for some reason, the computer crashes when I attempt to open it in .wps format, and when I try to open the .doc file in Wordpad, half of it is wiped out with squares, triangles, happy faces, italic squirrels, ASCII art portraits of Dullard, and other meaningless gibberish. I might just have to start it over, or continue from where I left off (which won't look as good, since one part was written a long time ago, and I've gotten "smarter" since then, now that I've started this site). I've got a couple ideas on how to start over, but either way, this means that my fanfic won't be up for a looong time...

That's it for tonight. (Phew, got it working again.) Keep voting for us on the Elite Final Fantasy Sites and the Final Fantasy Top 50, or I will track you down and challenge you to a Banjo Duel! That means you, (INSERT NAME OF VISITOR HERE)! I mean it...Please vote! *whimper*

Friday, July 16th--JeffreyATW here! I'm so happy, I made a midi of one of my favorite songs!

Thursday, July 15th--JeffreyATW, your current streak of 3 updates in a row has been BROKEN! Mwaha ha haaa! It's time for Serpent231 to get some......updates in, that is.

  • First of all, I got a 231 sighting! *crowd cheers*

  • Secondly, I updated Funny Screenshots! I included one of the all time greats in there...

  • Thirdly, I finished a review of WWF Warzone, and added it alongside Assassin's review of Shadow Madness! And don't worry, a review of a *gasp* BAD game is in the works...

  • Fourthly (?!), I wrote up a quick list of funny American movie names that were changed in France. It's hard to explain, but it might be worth a chuckle. Don't ask me why they did what they did to the Naked Gun titles...

  • Ragnarok, like the starting-to-contribute soul that he is, wrote a hilarious song parody of "Kyle's Mom is a Stupid B***h", called "Gilbert Muir is a Spoony Bard"! Ol' Tellah must be pretty mad...

  • I changed the ol' Midgar Poll on ya to a new question and larger layout! According to the last poll, we confirmed that Lady Marrah "is a marrah tat is lady". Now that's democracy in action!

  • A small note: I joined a webring called the Ultimate Final Fantasy Webring! Even if this place is a humor site, not a "Complete walkthrough, character bios, cheats, Gameshark codes, strategies, and 231,000 screenshots of FF8, even if it hasn't even come out in the US yet!" site. Heyyy, I gotta find myself an RPG Humor webring! Oh, BTW, the Xoom link was included with the HTML for the webring (it links to the owner's site), so I had to put it up. Don't think that we've moved to Xoom, because

  • In case you've just bookmarked this What's New? page instead of the actual homepage, you no good doesn't-want-to-give-us-hits reader (just joking! Really! Now go bookmark the front page!), we've moved from Tripod to Freeservers.com! Our new address is http://swamp.itgo.com, so change those bookmarks (if you've even bookmarked us, that is)!

  • Finally, here's my explanation on why I haven't been doing as many updates (thanks, Jeff!): Games! Yes, I never used my computer for games before, but now, low-tech computer games have gotten the better of me. I've been juggling Alien Phobia 2, Space Bastards, RPG Maker 95 (which CAN be downloaded, BTW), and Pokemon Blue (I've actually begun to get hooked on Pokemon!) all at once, trying to get some fun--which I have--and review material out of them. Also, I've been making Pt. Reyes on RPG Maker, and I'll attempt to get it on the site soon!

Well, that's it for today! Don't forget to vote for our site in the Elite Final Fantasy Sites!

Wednesday, July 14th--Good news! I've got a new computer! You're (undeniably) saying to yourself, "Serpent231 has yet ANOTHER new computer?" Well, you've got one thing wrong, I'm not Serpent231! JeffreyATW here, and I'm sitting in front of a 19" 32-bit color monitor, running on a 450 MHZ Pentium III Dell Dimension, replacing my heavy, dinky, no-name brand laptop (which couldn't be used as a laptop) that crashed every minute (literally).

  • All rejoice! I've made my own fanfic! It's that dreaded Final Fantasy 7 / Pokémon crossover I've been warning you all about. Well, here it is! It's called: Pikachu Meets Weapon

Monday, July 12th--Hey, it's JeffreyATW again! I was at Serpent231's house today, and we worked on those Not Exactly Celebrity Deathmatches that we hyped so much about!

  • Well, that's really all! To find out for yourself what they are, why don't you go? Oh yeah, maybe you should go check out some of the links about wrestling, especially the one with Christopher Robin Zimmerman, to understand it thoroughly.

  • Oh, and did you check the KICKSPUM logo that James and I made on the front page? It's KICKSPUM! And it's a montage of what this page deals with! Observe it closely, because it's KICKSPUM!

  • For the MIDI of the Day, it's yet ANOTHER remix of Sounds From HELL.

Thursday, July 8th--Stealing a little quote from Serpent, it's-a-me, Jeffrey-O! Got a little update for y'awwl. I mean, yahhl. I mean, Y'ALL! That's it. (Little Point Reyes humor)

  • I made The Quest For The Jade Monkey a little bit more HTML-ized, and I actually gave it PARAGRAPHS! Whoopee.

  • I created another midi, and this one's from a game. It's an overly snazzed up version of The Ballad of the Wind Fish from Zelda: Link's Awakening. ('Cuz I beat the game and felt like celebrating.)

  • I made the frames of the page a little brighter, making it a little more metallic.

  • For those of you who don't visit frequently, (that means all of you) I'm making progress on my fanfic, which is a Final Fantasy 7 / *gasp* Pokémon crossover. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Wednesday, July 7th--It's-a me! It's-a me! It's-a me, 231! And I'm BACK from my three weeks in Europe (2 in England, 1 in Paris). England was pretty cool, blokes--it had good music, friendly people, and the best part of the trip happened in there: I HEARD THE HAMPSTER DANCE ON THE RADIO! It had this disco-y dance music in the background, people saying stuff in a British accent that I couldn't understand, and every now and then, they'd play the sound effect about five times! It truly kicked spum. Long live British radio stations! I guess.

Quand je vais au Paris? It had great food, big monuments, incredible portraits done in Montmartre (I got one done! And it looked nothing like me! J/K), more friendly people, and bad music on every radio station, only made marginally better with the occasional song they stole from us Americans. Still, with the exception of the music, Paris was kickspum as well.

Anyway, here's my first update in...three weeks! There's a lot more to come, but I just don't have the time to write it all. Enjoy!

  • I've updated my usual easy-to-update-yet-fun-to-read (I hope) sections: Add Ons, 231 Sightings, and Links. I hope you guys aren't getting sick of these.

  • Arkrist Merkava Enemia (that's a mouthful) has contributed his IAQ, called The Prodigy. It's not supposed to be funny, but it doesn't have to be. Excellent IAQ.

  • I completed a review of Alien Phobia, one heck of a low-tech computer game.

  • Additionally, I redesigned the look of the Reviews page. Now, it's in tables, just like Cosmo Canyon! Long live the Fritz!

  • JeffreyATW and I made a Page FAQ, so now newcomers will understand this odd site tat is Swamp.

  • Updated Funny Screenshots with more than the usual additions. It's a special occasion!

  • Like Jeff said, I'm going to have some Not-So-Celebrity-Deathmatches between...well...you'll see. I'm the master of war! Buwa ha haaa!

Cait Sith sez: Now THIS has potential!

  • I added all the necessary stuff to Misc. Stuff that I forgot to put up earlier. Now you can read stuff you might have read before!

  • I changed the poll, which has actually gotten 12 votes! Off course, it's been up for weeks...Anyway, there's a new one on the front page.

  • I added a button for the Elite Final Fantasy sites to the front page. Please take time to click it and vote for the Swamp!

  • Finally, I got another Redirection URL: http://i.am/231. Easy to remember, eh? Rrgghh...Canadian genes...

Well, that's it for today! Expect no mer--er, expect more in the future! Sploit!

Friday, July 2nd--JeffreyATW here, and I'm back! To start off, gotta say: Do not be alarmed by the last update. It was not made by somebody with no letters on their keyboard. While Serpent231, Lady Marrah and I were all on vacation (Serpent231 and I went to France), Cedric "Lobsterboy" Henry added a link. Sorry to spoil that, but if you read June 13th's update, you'll see why I said that.

  • First update: I'm back! I'm the only active staff member now, but the other two will be back soon.

  • Second: As you may have known if you've visited here before, the decor has changed! Now it's gray instead of green, giving it a more metallic, uh, dullness. I'm working on it.

  • Third: I've colorized Lady Marrah's picture! The colors maybe weren't her preference, but nonetheless...

  • Coming events: What I like to call Serpent231's Not-So-Celebrity Deathmatches! That's all I'm saying, don't want to spoil it.

Saturday, June 12th--It is a day... a day for... POKéMON! JeffreyATW here, and this will be my last update for 2 France-filled weeks!

  • First Pokémon thing: I've added a zip file of pictures of the most popular, newest Pokémon from the Silver and Gold versions!

  • Second Pokémon thing: A MIDI of the Japanese theme song of Pokémon!

  • Third Pokémon thing (only read if you are a die-hard Pokémon fan): I've got an announcement about Pokémon on GameShark: Every code for Pokégods are NOT FAKE! Even though on the manual of the GameShark it tells you not to use Pokémon, you can! Just be careful with the directions! But one thing, all the Pokégods are not called by their real names! (e.g. Rainer, Charcolt, Sapusaur) They are glitches, look like glitches, act like glitches, sound like glitches, and evolve like glitches! They do not have pictures or Pokédex data. You will have to wait for Pokémon Gold and Silver for those. Email me for more truth.

  • Fourth Pokémon thing: I've decided to make a fanfic! All I am saying for now is that it will be a Pokémon/FFVII crossover. Don't be fooled. You will be.

  • Okay, enough Pokemon! Some other things: I put up a great Final Fantasy VII Walkthrough! Only thing is: It's for the Japanese version, and there's no info for the third CD.

  • I added some of my own 231 Sightings!

  • Another thing: Funny Screenshots updated! Well, that's it for toda-- I mean, two weeks! TTF2W! Ta ta for two weeks! I'll be back... in two weeks. Ok, enough ripoffs... for two weeks.

Friday, June 11th--SCHOOL'S OUT! SCHOOL'S OUT! Er...SCHOOL'S OUT! More updates! More free time! More activities that take up my time! Whoo hoo!! Wait...I just forgot a tiny little detail: Jeff and I are going to Paris. No, Marrah, we aren't ditching you, it was just a coincidence. So for the next three weeks, Jeff and I will be gone...forever...mwahahahhahaaa...
Don't worry, though, most of you probably don't even have time to visit the site, due to your activities. Actually, I'm probably wrong...but who cares? Let's get ready to updaaaaate!

  • First of all, we'll get the usual out of the way. The Add Ons have been--

    o_O
    ...updated. Sigh.

  • Along with some very important Links. Gotta love that Hampster Dance!

  • And a 231 Sighting or two...three one. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I crack myself up. BTW, I've taken out the one about Pascal's Triangle, since I was informed that it was wrong, and I've made the new sightings in red. OoooooOOOOOoooosploitOOOOooo!

  • One screenshot has been added so an MST joke makes sense.

  • Now to the real stuff: Cedric Henry's truly hilarious (and semi-informative) Um Jammer Lammy FAQ has been updated. I haven't been keeping up with it, so the update to the FAQ is pretty big!

  • And finally, the kicker (ow)! Some spum faced, woodchuckin', illiterate Tekken 3 expert flamed me in my guestbook (you might have seen his entry). However, since it was a private message, nobody would really know what he did. Well, THIS is a message to all those who shall choose to diss the Swamp: The three person staff MSTed his flame! Yeah, it's only a mini-one, but hey, it was better than signing him up for 231 mailing lists or something. Enjoy!

Sunday, June 6th--Look, look, it's the new girl Lady Marrah with my very first update! And a Piddly Little Update (tm) at that! Aren't those the best kind...hehehe.

  • I added my AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) screen name to the Staff Page, and did absoutely nothing else! Woo-hoo for me, I guess.... :P

Saturday, June 5th--IT'S-A ME, GOWDEY-O! Yes, AKA Serpent231. And I'm back! This new computer truly kicks spum. 333 MHz, microphone capabilities (I don't have a microphone though), and...it actually WORKS, too! Unlike my really stupid 486 that you had to hit to turn on (Don't go there!)...grumblegrumbleIkickyouintheNUTSgrumble. Well, I can finally update this place. Eeere we gooo! Unfortunately, I realize that none of these are mine. BUT, that's only because I was so eager to update the site and tell everybody (yeah, all 5 of you!) that I'm back, I haven't had the time to work on anything. C'mon, cut me some spum here! Onward...

  • Starting off with...a hilarious list on fun ways to to order a pizza by IcyBrian of IcyBrian's homepage! I've gotta try some of these someday...

  • Also, my friend Arthur Meneau (who's e-mail shall remain anonymous) mailed me a top ten list on Things Not to Say to a Police Officer. The Swamp really needed another Top 10, didn't it? (hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

  • Also, I've created a new section featuring mistranslated screenshots from games called These Screens Are Sick! Off course, I give credit to Zany Video Game Quotes (run by Lagogod and Sakura) for providing the screens. Don't worry, there'll be more!

  • Add Ons updated, cause I want to have some part in this update. Fortunately, Justin McNeil contributed another add on!

  • Finally, since Justin stole my add on update, I've converted my WCW Saturday Night recap to HTML, since it was spoonied up before. Who invented Word Wrap, anyway?

  • And as you probably noticed, I removed a whole bunch of stuff from this section, and moved it to What's Old. Like anybody cares.

  • FINALLY, Jeff updated his IAQ, like the spoony bard that he is. And just to be nice, he made me smiling in the picture, made my pants longer (my pants aren't tight!), and took off the MCMS logo on my shirt. I do NOT wear P.E. shirts to school, goshspoonit!

Friday, June 4th--JeffreyATW sez: It's finally done! It's finally done! What is, you ask (or don't)? My latest MIDI! It's Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin! I think it's my best one yet! Also, some news, Serpent has a new, fast computer! It's not set up yet, but when it is, I think he'll be able to update much more. All for now!

  • Also, I changed the front page a little. No, not only with the MIDI of the Day, but I changed The Midgar Poll, and I also moved some links onto the Links page.

Wednesday, June 2nd--JeffreyATW here! I've got more good news and bad news. The good news: Only 7 more days of school left! The bad news: Serpent's computer went kablooey (metaphorically). So, he gave me a piece of paper (no computer involved, WOW!) and told me what to do. The list goes:

1.) Post Hamster's RPG IAQ on the FAQ's and IAQ's page
2.) Post my first recap on WCW Saturday Night on the Misc. Stuff page
    3. ) Put Lady Marrah's bio and picture up in the Staff page
    4. ) Update 231 Sightings

That's it for today! Oh, wait, wait, don't go there-- I mean, yet! I made a nifty little logo for Serpent! Here it is, in five different sizes:

    XL

    L

    M

    XS
