Tuesday, December 7th -- Hey-hey! It's my turn to update, even Serpent said so! Well, actually, I moved his jaw and used him as a ventriloquist dummy to say that. He was too infatuated with the size and transparency of a girl's shirt in French class to notice. It's all right, James, we understand... it's okay to stare dumbfounded at a girl's shirt during 6th period and write me comments like "dOoD!!1! lOk aT hEr sHirT!!!!11 iTs rELlY sHorT!!!!11"

Anyway... hey, are you listening or trying to get a visual of what I just said? Okay. First off, we've added yet another new feature to the Swamp... Quote of the Day! It will appear in the little bottom frame from now on. Why waste space and put it on this page? That FrEe pIx uF yUfFiE never worked, did it? Well, here it is, on our new server. I added a review of Final Fantasy 5! And what's more, I've never played Final Fantasy Anthology! I added an two images for NECD #4. They're really funny, especially if you've ever visited Fat Chicks in Party Hats. Maniacal Laughs updated. Fwahahahaha... Some news: The site has a new secondary server, sentra.tripod.com! If you visit it now, you will find a project that I'm doing in school where you create your own country, MUCH like Serpent's Fraundorfia. But it's really only going to be used as storage space, so it doesn't matter. This won't really matter, but I made a new opening page for our old server, swamp.itgo.com. Well, with all those Mr. T references at the beginning, this can only mean one thing! Add Ons! 231 Sightings! Links! Er, my bad. I meant that this signifies a new NECD! This time, it's Miguel (owner of the incredibly stupid Fat Chicks in Party Hats) and Shahrukh Hafeez (flamer to my guestbook--remember him?) vs. Two Fat Chicks in Party Hats who are bent on getting their revenge! Read on, dOd! Unfortunately, since ATW isn't here, I couldn't get any images for the beginning of the match. Still, it's not that important......right? Justin McNeil, well known writer of Life: The RPG, Life: In High School, and a bunch of funny e-mails including my trademark :)>, submitted TWO more IAQs: Freedom and Outcast! Spum-kickin'! Speaking of IAQs...um...they're cool. Oh yeah, and Rick Rodman's Pain IAQ has been updated! Read it, goshspummit! It's good! ::throws arms up like a football ref after a field goal:: More IAQ related thtuffuth! Tyvek Liinhaal parodies "Scatman" (no offense, but I've never heard of it, Ty) by writing IAQ Man. Basically, it tells us all we need to know about IAQs in a better way than an e-mail message. Also, in other song news, Arkrist Merkava submitted a parody of "Sleep Now in the Fire" by Rage Against the Machine, called "Espers Burn You With their Fire"! Remember, never cast Fire 3 on somebody with bad gas. After being bored one day at school, I created a neato little List of ASCII Faces on my pocket computer organizer thing! Funny Screens updated with two by Taiyoneko dd, a guy with an e-mail addy from FF Online! Wow, I never knew that the readers over there knew about us! Mmm...popularity... I updated the poll! According to the last one, off course we should really go there! This new one deals with that new controversial (and mostly disliked by CC fans) fanfic... Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Pinchy the Lobster asked some people, and, uh...here's what happened. Updated my staff stuff. And on a closing note, Happy Thanksgiving, Loren Leah! We knew ye well...

Wednesday, November 10th--It's the Serpent tat is 231, and I've finally mustered the strength to do a little updating on this place! And, no, it's not just because the contest ended ^_^

As stated above, the deadline for the Mix 'N Match contest is up, and though we only got two entries, it was still tough to pick a winner. Read the results (oh, yeah, the entries, too) here! Holy golden crinkles, Batman! The Add Ons were updated! Off course, when the Add Ons are updated, the 231 Sightings should be updated too! Ditto for the Funny Screens as well. I finally wrote a big ol' review of PaRappa the Rapper! Whooo hoooo! Yesss! And on to the next stage, er, topic now. I added something that I made for school: A continent that I made up (yeah, some of it's stupid because of the pointless land features I had to add, like a savanna and a chaparral, to get full credit) for a school project, along with a report about it! And what better theme to make for a continent than one that revolves around Fritz Fraundorf? Fritz Fraundorf IS Fritz Fraundorf in... Fraundorfia! Check it out now... Oh, BTW, I got 57/60 on the thing! Not bad, considering my geography teacher hasn't even heard of Fritz ... I added my a couple roleplays that I've been saving up for a uh, rainy day to the Roleplays section. Updated my bio and staff info with some thtuffuth. And this isn't exactly an update (yes, I know this update was kinda small), but I'd like to share a KICK SPUM ASCII face that I made up myself! Maybe I'll start an ASCII Face List when I have the time... :)> Smiling Wise Man! Almost as good as Propeller Beanie Man |-(|:-)

MCMSRPGIAQ updated with even MORE cheesy humor! Yay! I updated the Dictionary of RPG Cliches! It may have been the wrong thing to do, but it's got some FF8 stuff! I've made a new list: The Midgar Swamp vs. RockeT CanyoN! Let's see who wins... I've written something special for alls y'all... a new fanfic... a tear jerker called Cloud and Me! Sniff! 231 Sighings Updated. Sigh... Maniacal Laughs updated. Hmm... should this be an Add-On? And to end the day... (phew, still is the 30th) I put "The Midgar Swamp" in Norse on the title image! Know why? 'Cause "midgar" is Norse for "earth"!

Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! October 24th--Unh, yes! Welcome to the Swamp! Er, sorry, that was a random Um Jammer Lammy reference. Y'know, I'm starting to quote the game more, even though I haven't played it in months (Jeff still has it). Anywho, I've got an update that's almost appropriate for all audiences!

First off, and most importantly... I finally updated Pt. Reyes: The Game! Thank you! Thank you! I never could have done this without, um... well... some binder paper, a pen, and some free time at school. And remember, you gotta believe! Updated those sploit-tingling(?!) Add Ons, and incredible 231 Sightings. Aktar updated his Pain IAQ! And it's more high-tech than mine! Ragnarok wrote a song parody--definitely as good, if not better, than Mamapapa--called Bordam Daravon, and parodies the classic "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown". Just read it; it's kickspoony! In what I had a lot of fun in doing, I wrote a bunch of characters' responses to the question "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" Even if you don't get all the references on this site, just read it anyway! Assassin reviewed WWF Attitude! Too... many... 10 scores... Time to announce something! With a some help from the RockeT CanyoN message board, JeffreyATW, BrandonTCA, Cap'n Cam (yes, the owner of RC), RyuKage (owner of Asgard), Snifit 2, Max Morganov, and me have formed an MSTing group called the Random RPG Characters! Heck yes! I hope this means that you'll be seeing more MSTs around the Swamp... Wanted, Dead or Alive: More Mix 'N Match Reviews! C'mon, the deadline's coming up soon! Friday, October 15th--Bonjour, Madame Bifteck! (Hello, Mrs. Beef!) Boy, have I got an update for you!

Lessee... 231 Sightings updated... Dum dum DUM! Steve Caires, maker of Don't Go There, Sounds From Hell, character in MCMSRPGIAQ, and star of NECD #2, has created another horrifying piece: SOUNDS FROM HELL 2.0: THE DARKENING. He says: "its even worse than the first one!!!!!!!!!" I added an advertisement for the MCMSRPGIAQ to the front page! It's one of Cosmo Canyon's traditions! The big kahuna of the update... THREE new Song parodies! First one, Mamapapa by Serpent and me, Mambo Number Eighteen, and Choco Bill! Maniacal Laughs updated! Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! October 10th--I've got some VERY big (well, sorta) news that JeffreyATW already told you about!

Okay, here it is! And I'm probably the only person who didn't know about this until a little while ago: There's a bigger, more popular follower to Cosmo Canyon! And it's called RockeT CanyoN (they'll never tell us why the last letters on the words are capitalized)! Yep, it looks similar to Cosmo Canyon, is run by the same kind of die-hard CC fan that I am, and features some pretty cool stuff, too. Not only that, but it's collected more hits than our measly 2000something...::breaks down:: Anyway, here's some even more amazing news--some people who go to that site actually know about this place! RockeT CanyoN has linked to the Swamp without even me knowing--how'd they find us? Have we actually made a small dent? Also, a guy in the message board nominated JeffreyATW and the Stussy team as the best MSTers! Wow! Anyway, onto the actual update. I updated those strange-but-true 231 Sightings. Along with the even-stranger-but-true Add Ons! And the true-but-true Links have been added to and edited. I wrote a review of Chocobo Racing! Wark--I mean, kweh!  A big Cosmo Canyon fan, BenGrande (owner of beN64) contributed his hilarious IAQ, HICK, to us! I wrote another one o' them stupid rants, this time being against the evilness of Chain Letters. It was late at night, and hey, I wanted to introduce you to my new ASCII Face: Small Sad Sam! Oh, and it was also an excuse to put in the Ten Types of Chain Letters I updated Le Poll! According to the previous results, it looks like you want to see my actual face (although Tifa came in a close second ^_^)! I updated my staff junk like Jeff! I've been warking, er, working on some prizes for the contest (uh, except the MIDI ^_^), as you can see above, so maybe this'll give some people motivation to actually ENTER it! Come on! I've only got one entry so far (thanks, Cap'n CAM)! And just another quick note: After much thought and Jeff presuading me with the fact that "ev-v-v-v-rybody's doin' it, maaan...", I finally joined the Kingdom of Windor! It's a lot like E-wrestling, only you don't fight as much, you interact with others in a friendlier (or not so friendly) way, and you inhabit a large Final Fantasy style world where anything can happen! It's pretty cool. Oh, BTW, I control two characters: Serpent (in RPG form ^_^), and his serpent esper buddy from FF6, Terrato! Also, my roleplays can be found in Ye Olde Tavern.

Monday, October 4th--Booo! Halloween is coming up, and I'm getting ready! Boooo! Okay, actually, it's almost a month away, but it's October nonetheless.

Well, the Magus theme is the Midi of the Day. Just wanted to point that out because it KiCkSz SpUmE, dOd!!!!2 I updated the title image of the page. Doesn't it look cool? Now it's got a 3-D "Midgar Swamp", little icons (that I drew!) of the FF8 characters, and a moderately crappy picture of Oynx in the corner. Oh yeah, our famous little saying has a shadow under it, too. James found a site called RockeT CanyoN, another follower to Cosmo Canyon! It's kinda amazing how similar it is to ours! I didn't want to put a link to it on the Links page, James'll do that himself. Updated my Staff junk.

Friday, October 1st--Hey there everyone: It's the only Esper whose name is synonymous with the Apocalypse, it's Ragnarok! I gave it away, didn't I? ^_^ Well, I had to say that, since its's a well-known login quote you've seen if you ever saw me on a chat program called The Palace...However, I've dropped it recently in favor of Comic Chat...

For one thing, I fixed DOZENS (literally!) of simple spelling MSTakes on the page...Yes, I know, I'm probably also the only one who even cares about spelling... ...But not only that, I've fixed a LOT of links too! ...And some typos on the Songs page. ...Oops, can't forget a fixed frame title logo, can we (you noticed it was a bit "cramped" there)? Plus, I've added my pic to the Artwork page, and put in the last title headers for it and the Sound Clips page as well. As you may have noticed, I went and redid those too... Wah ha ha ha! I even added my Maniacal Laugh! Last but DEFINITELY not least, you may have noticed that the spacers look a bit...Different. Yes, that was me: I finally got those spacers recoded! The spacers now display the way I wanted them to (I asked Jeff if he wanted me to redo the frames, and he said go ahead)...I know, you probably don't care, but still...They look nice, don't they? As for the old (and slightly grainy) spacers, I can only say one thing that explains why I redid them: This is what happens when you use Error Diffusion instead of Nearest Color on a grayscale image! Uh...Nevermind. That's all for now...

Saturday, September 27th--Hey-hey! I'm not going to say my name for this update! You'll never guess who I am! Bza ha haaa! D'oh, that gave it away. (that too)

I updated Les Sightings De 231! Don't tell me that you haven't accepted this number as your favorite yet! I also updated the Links by taking away ones I don't visit any more. Most importantly, though, I linked to the old Cosmo Canyon on (shudders) Geocities! Go and read as much as you can before Cosmo Canyon is destroyed by Y2K [no, it's not really affected]! On a related note, I added a huge compilation called The Best of The Mailbag by Fritz Fraundorf, choosing all the select quotes and memorable letters from Fritz's hilarious "series". I spent a long time on this, so please read as much as you can! I updated my Tekken 3 Wrestling Move Guide with what is possibly the Smallest Update Ever Written! Yoo hoo! Funny Screenshots have been updated with a bunch of stuff, two of which are the funniest things I've ever seen in a Mario game. Anagrams of Bordam Daravon have been brought to you by Ragnarok. Damn road... And also in celebration of 2000 hits, I added another one of Fritz's crowning achievements to the site, due to popular demand: The Dictionary of RPG Cliches! I bet you probably won't finish this in a sitting (you see why it's at the bottom of the update?)! In the making: My new fanfic, an update for Pt. Saturday, September 25th--Hey (repeat x2)! JeffreyATW is here. Got a nice, juicy update. Shut up, Stussy!

Updated the Add-Ons! Don't Go There was added on to by its original creator! Ragnarok added some random things. He corrected some stuff, and added Translations of "You Spoony Bard!" WE'VE REACHED 2000 HITS! WHOOPDY DOO! I decided to celebrate by making an updated version of the 1000 Hits Midgar Swamp Jingle, called the 2000 Hits Midgar Swamp Jingle! I added a sample for the Swamp's Mix 'N' Match Contest. I also made that snazzy little animation on the front page. Well, as you all [should] know, I'm a part of Windor now, so I made a little bio for my character, Skyler. Ragnarok told me to add James's 231 logo to the Artwork page. So I did. I have a little system I decided to start: Since most people don't really CARE who updated, and since we're tired of saying our names over and over, we'll start putting our own logo on the green part of the update, as shown above. I drew a 2000 hit award!

Saturday, September 20th--Ya hoo! Loren Leah got an update! And as a matter of fact... so did I (Serpent231)!

First, the 231 Sightings were updated because Ragnarok's got sKilZ. As stated above, I've started a contest! Yep, this one starts from where Cosmo Canyon left off, called Mix 'N Match! Just combine the names of two games or two characters, and write a couple paragraphs about it! The deadline for this assignment, er, contest, is Halloween--uh, October 31st, for the chain letter forwarders out there--and the prize will be... well, you'll just have to win to find out, won't you? So, uh, why don't y'all get busy? Third, Arkrist Enemia submitted a review of this really obscure game... uhh... what's it called? Oh, yeah. FF8. Fourth, I copied down a couple WWF Attitude Create A Wrestler Formulas (sorry, wrestling haters...). There will be more added soon, but for now, we'll show you how to make me, James Gowdey, and Serpent of E-Wrestling fame. I even got two slightly blurry screenshots of James and Serpent! Fifth, and finally, Jeff and I thought up a parody of a little known alternative humor comic called Red Meat (BTW, this is where Milkman Dan came from--he's in the Maniacal Laughs section), called Blue and Green Meat, off course. Now, it's hard to explain, so just go to the Misc. Stuff section to read the description (sorry, I'm lazy tonight). I will tell you this, though: Jeff did a great job of parodying the dark looks of the comic! Sixth, Rick Rodman updated his Pain IAQ! If only I could do the same (to my IAQ, stupid)... Seventh (phew!), I finally updated the poll with a very important (yeah, right) issue. Jeff'll have to fix the new design that I messed up. Eighth, Ragnarok made some updated title images for each section! Including some ones that weren't there before, like Roleplaying and MIDI of the Day Archives! Ninth, and least importantly, I added my new Maniacal Laugh to... uh, yeah. I didn't want to put it at the bottom because Steve Caires (AKA Caires Sith)'s laugh is the best one to finish the page off. Last, I'd just like to tell everybody that sent me a birthday present (all two of you!) that you should send it again, since I lost it when my computer got de-formatted. I figured that I'd better say this soon, or you would probably sign me up for a few dozen mailing lists because I didn't put your present up. Saturday, September 18th--Ahh, love is in the air. And love can work all kinds of miracles...like inducing Loren to update for the first time since she started school... Yes, as it so happens, I've had my crap quota for the day filled as well. I'll just get on with my little update here.

Well, I've got Chrono Trigger on the brain... ^_^ So I couldn't resist snatching up these screenshots of the animé scenes from the new PSX version of CT. Okay, so they're not funny...but they look DARN good. Umm...oh yeah. I updated my profile to reflect my change of handle. Like you care.

I made a list of Maniacal Laughs! It's compiled by me, and these things were taken from all over the place! I finally updated my MCMS RPG IAQ! Yee-haa! 231 Sightings were, off course, updated. I wrote a review of Um Jammer Lammy! Gave it a 10, of course... Ragnarok's now officially officially officially a staff member, because he's on the Staff page! Updated my description, too. Big news: I GOT FF8!!! GameCave finally sent it since I pre-ordered it a couple weeks ago, and it kicksz spumm, doOd!!!

Thursday, September 14th--Serpent231 (finally) here with an update for all y'all! In case you didn't know, my computer got a @^_^%*@#*$%=) VIRUS, and that left me without working programs for a week, and after my dad and I took it into the shop, they DE-FORMATTED (i.e. erased) MY HARDDRIVE! So basically, I lost everything I hadn't put on the site yet, along with my extras MIDIs, pics, and, *sniff* some birthday presents I got from a few readers! So, this will hurt the updates, but if I can still scrape together some stuff every week, the Swamp will be fine.

I got a new IAQ from a former Cosmo Canyon reader, Aktar (real name: Rick Rodman)! It's very well written, and combines humor with futuristic drama! 'N stuff! Oh, yeah, and it's called Pain! BTW, "pain" also translates into "bread" in French, but I don't think that's what the author had in mind. The Add Ons have been updated because, uh, I felt sploity. So have the 231 Sightings, only I didn't feel as sploity. This isn't really an update, but on Fanfiction.net, my fanfic, The Quest For the Jade Monkey, got another reader review! The story was disjointed, rambling, psychotic and every major character sounded like an escapee from an asylum. I give it a rating of 9.5 and humbly request that the writer give us a sequel. And next time, *please* try and include the 80-foot tall robotic Winston Churchill that devastated Cincinnati before Jizmo the Wonder Horse stopped him and saved Easter. --Tempus (9) Isn't that cool? So, anyway, like he requested, I've begun to write my new fanfic! It probably is going to take a while (and I do mean, a while), but I got some motivation for it! Maybe if I got some more reviews of it, I could go even faster! *WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE NEVER MIND* And on the flip side, someone wanted to MST The Jade Monkey! In response, I wrote a big ol' rambling message about nothing in order to scare them off and never want to MST my stuff again! It's probably the stupidest thing I've ever written, actually. Ragnarok, like that anagram-contributing staff member that he is, contributed some, well, anagrams! This time, Midgar Zolom and Fritz Fraundorf get anagramized.

Monday, August 23rd--Hey, hey, hey, hey, uh, hey. Boy, that's getting old... It's JeffreyATW! I came back from Terra Linda (translated to Beautiful Terra (I think Celes looks nicer)) High School! It was just orientation, you know, getting to know the school, but I think I'm gonna have buckets of fun, Alice!

Well, the Midgar Swamp, being the popular site that it is, has recieved too much artwork to fit on the Misc. Stuff page, so I've created the Pictures page! It contains two sections: the ever-so-popular Funny Screenshots, and the new Artwark, I mean work section! And yes, it does mean that you'll have to click twice to get to the Funny Screenshots... After much thinking (and a reluctant "okaaaayyy....." from Serpent231), I've deleted and moved some stuff from the index. I've taken away the two voting pages (they were tacky and annoying to click on every day), the webring (which served absolutely no purpose), and I've moved the guestbook to the menu. All we want is a nice, fast download...

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! August 22nd--Hey-hey-hey! It's Serpent231 AKA James Gowdey (inc case you forgot my name) here! I just got back from an absolutely BEST time in the absolute BEST camp I've ever been to... none other than Pt. Reyes! And I actually plugged the site for the kind, loving people in my three day (maybe it was four days... it went by so fast!) backpacking group! Pt. Reyes is such a gorgeous place, you won't believe it. I really miss being there with my group! Oh yeah, I have an update, too.

More Funny Screenshots means... more Funny Screenshots! Arkrist Enemia (no, that's not his real name) sent in two halves of a new IAQ (it's another serious one), along with a big map of his Prodigy IAQ! And it's better than my race track art in Pt. Reyes: The Game! With help from Enemia again, I've made it so the Links section opens the given sites in new windows! No more opening-up-a-new-page-that-has-frames-within-the-Swamp's- frames syndrom! I wrote a really stupid song parody of the Bum Bum Song by Tom Green, called the Spum Spum Song by Cait Sith. And nobody will understand it! Well, actually, you can download the song in either MP3 format (you need Winamp for that--try searching for it), or RealAudio format (everyone has Realplayer, right?) from here! It's just as stupid as the parody, and filled with bathroom humor, but I like it because it's trying to be different! I bet all the Pt. Reyes people just sighed and shook their heads after reading that last sentence. I don't usually like bathroom humor! Finally, I just want to say "Hey-hey!" to all the readers from Pt. Reyes that are, well, reading this update! WONK! Well, school's starting in a little while, so don't expect as many updates as you're used to... grumblegrumbleschoolgrumblekickallthelockersgrumble...

I made a lot of cool pictures... one's a pic of the Midgar Staff's alter-ego's. Another one is of the staff Catching a chocobo. I also made a little banner for the page, you can put it on your page if you want... AHEM. AHEM. AHEMI'MHINTINGSOMETHINGHERE. Without me knowing, Ragnarok made a pretty funny banner, also. Ragnarok contributed a 231 Sighting. I put a link to the much-needed Westminster font. You need that to see the page like it was meant.

I added two objects for the Misc. Stuff page: Top 10 Reasons Why Not To Wear An Afro, and Sephiroth's Advice For The Day. I fixed even more broken links, pointed out by Ragnarok. I made a MIDI for my sister. It's called Hedgehog, please don't ask me why. It sounds pretty good, if y'ask me.

Sunday, August 15th--Yo yous guys! JeffreyATW here, and Serpent's gone on vacation, again. But this time, he's gone back to Point Reyes!

He told me to add a link to MTV's TRL (Total Request Live)'s website. He wants you all to vote for The Bum Bum Song (Lonely Swedish) by Tom Green. Damn, that song is funny! I fixed a lot of broken links that were made while moving the site. Thank'so-much, Ragnarok! Ragnarok also suggested this... he made me turn all the links in the menu from images into text. So get the Westminster font OR ELSE! I updated the poll, too.

Friday, August 13th--It's Friday the 13th, but it's time to celebrate, because of three things:

1. We're back on Tripod, baby! Only this time, with PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP! No annoying ad's! And I (JeffreyATW) paid for it myself! 2. It's Serpent231's birthday (or at least, party) today! This new location is my present to him. 3. I made a MIDI of Kyle's Mom's a Stupid B!%@# by Eric Cartman! I also linked that to Ragnarok's parody. Also, I changed the color of the message board to look more like this webpage. Also also, I changed the menu's buttons into text, which is bad if you don't have the Westminster font. Also also also, got some bad news: Lady Marrah has left the Kingdom of Windor! In other words, no more Lady Marrah! But it also means that she'll be going as her new name, Loren Leah.

Monday, August 11th--Yodeodeo! Serpent231 here. You know, I found that Zelda 64 sighting before in a magazine, but Jeff used his Spong Fu magic and made me forget it.

I wrote a big ol' review of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, one of the best fighting games to date (next to Tekken 3). Also, I put up an old review of Blazing Dragons, written by Lobstaboy, that I was saving up. The infamous Add Ons have finally been sploited... er... updated. A new one's been started by Joel Guzman! And on a similar note, Joel gave me a 231 Sighting! I did, too, with a couple school related ones. Naw, high school ain't be startin'--I'm talkin' bout tha' "old school" , foo'. In IAQs news... I've put up Part Two of Arkrist Merkava Enemia's innovative and well written Prodigy IAQ! I updated my bio, as well as the one in the Staff page. Hey, I'm starting to sound like Jeff! And to cut down on the size of the main page, I made two of the bigger pictures (besides the logo) links, and took out the Xoom image from the Top FF Sites webring at the bottom. The page is still too big, though! Still coming soon: The MST! Unfortunately, Lady Marrah dropped out of this one. C'mon, Marrah! We need some more stuff from ya!
